I was thinking he should just superglue the pieces to his feet... Then he wouldn't need to worry about tape and shyt.

Yeah, me too. :) Almost all my clothes have holes in them (including underwear). Some things are really ragged.

I admit, walking barefoot or just on socks is more comfortable than walking in my shoes. They're very loose, can barely keep them on my feet when I walk a little faster. But no new shoes for me right now.

One hoodie I wear quite often has large holes at one shoulder (where I use to carry my backpack), the cuffs are coming off and there are large holes at the front pocket. ;)

You can always put new insoles in (or make some insoles yourself). Glue and duct tape for the rest. But glue isn't working for my shoes anymore. Tried it.

Yeah, comfortable and sustainable. ;) But I also like the look. Like Moonglow said: It is part of the I don't give a shit look. :)

I'm lucky that my gf is totally into freeganism and alike and also wears quite ragged clothes. :)

I was gonna say glue but at least two people have already mentioned it. tape is just ridiculous and I doubt it would even work ver well.

It occurs to me that in a survival situation you could quickly and fairly easily fabricate a pair of shoes from cardboard and duct or similar tape. If you were really desperate!
Other waste materials could also be used - plastic - all kinds of things.

I was working on this dock and decided to take a ride on the pallet jack. it ripped my shoe in apart when I wrecked .. so I grabbed a tape gun and wrapped my shoe up with tape ..

i once duct taped some shoes when they fell apart at work. i had worn through the tape by the end of the day. it works in a pinch, but it's not any sort of a long term solution.

Duct tape fixes just about anything... Except duct work apparently.

No need to. No worries. Soon I'll be barefoot all the time anyway. ;)

I have enough tape to re-tape them a few times.

    :D

Honestly... who cares about the look? I can't deny it's comfortable, because it is, but if you can afford new clothes before the ragged ones start to actually fall off, why wouldn't you buy new clothes? Comfort and sustainability only go so far before it becomes simply ridiculous.

Honestly, what is it with people and looking poor these days? What is is with people and looks in general? You people are so frustrating

Haven't you ever heard.....real wealth is not always showy....they dress down and can be raggedy to camouflage themselves, as they do not want to draw attention to themselves....some of them...old money...

high falutent dress and bling does nothing for me.....nothing....it is like the I am trying to impress someone look, as far as i am concerned.....

clothes never make people...people make the clothes...even in rags.

I just like to wear worn out/ragged clothes. You don't need to understand that. I don't understand it really myself. But it is like it is ...

And I'm kinda poor (always broke at the end of the month, no savings) but that's not the point. Quite decent clothes are cheap or even for free if you want. But I don't want. ;)
