if you have your own place, you can grow them. its inexpensive, discrete, and gives a much greater appreciation for the experience.

google "PF Tek For Simple Minds" for a very easy to understand, simple procedure.

i prefer them to LSD personally. more calm, less edgy, in my personal experience, but thats not to say i dislike LSD. i like it quite well actually. :D:D

however one of the biggest bonuses of mushrooms compared to LSD is the experience is quite a bit shorter, so if you react poorly to a strong dose, you have less time to endure it.

of course, i find the rare unpleasant experiences to be as valuable as the glorious ones.

hey TNS how've you been man??

I've personally found the opposite to be true. for me acid has a more balanced and crisp character, while shrooms feel more tumultuous and seem to give me a sort of 'psychic vertigo'.

yeah, crisp. thats what i find less pleasing about LSD -sometimes- is that its crisp...it feels "synthetic" or "clinical." i also find a strong level of stimulation from LSD.

i do think mushrooms have a bit of a more muddled feeling to them. i also find them more calming, but mostly due to the lack of stimulation. in fact, i have once or twice fallen asleep at the tail end of a mushroom trip, whereas with acid i have a while before i can be capable of sleep without other drugs to induce it.

I prefer shrooms to LSD, as well, but not because of the shorter duration. I love the deeply spiritual and organic feel of shrooms. I would prefer if shroom trips lasted longer though, personally. I love LSD too, but shrooms pwn. I haven't been able to find any shrooms for probably 3-4 years though. I would order spores and shit, but I'm in GA, which is one of the few states in which it is illegal to order/possess spores. lol

I've been good. It's been a rough year though. I'm in need of a job, once again, and I still have to do a few things to get my driver's license back, which is gonna cost a good bit of money, most likely.

    How've you been?

    exactly.
plus shrooms have that sort of "plant high" (or fungi high in this case) that I can only get with organic psychs.

estimating, if you do a poor mans setup...

    $20 for a spore syringe
    $5 for vermiculite
    $5 for brown rice flour
    $5 for lysol
$10 for a rubbermaid container (for a fruiting chamber)
$1 for a gallon of distilled water...

under 50 bucks, for a potentially large yield. this is all estimated prices, and the "$5" items may be overshot.

we can discuss the logistics of it via pm if you would be interested in more information. i might be able to help. it can get even cheaper using certain methods.

i need to leave for a bit to watch a movie for class now, though.

take a look at the PF Tek for simple minds as a good preliminary source of information. it will give you a good idea of how it works

i love the quickness of my wit, depth of my thought, and of course, the visuals of shrooms more than acid. they are also easier to sleep on. they are so REAL.

however, i love the "centered" feeling of 'cid, and the visuals match your thought processes perfectly. i feel as though i have walked in to an alex grey painting. i am a lot more social on acid, while on shrooms the only people i want to talk to are my fellow trippers.

    yeah, it was disgusting. lol.
mostly because my friend just put our shrooms in hot water.

and drank it like that... and then afterwards.. we ate them too. lol.

AND we didn't even put tea bags in them. i guess we didn't think of it at the time..

so it was strictly just shit flavored. lol

    .. i had a bad trip that day.. :(

yes, it really is very simple. the only issue to keep in mind is that sterility is of UTMOST importance. beyond that, i've said for a few years now that growing cubensis is no more complicated than baking a cake, but the instructions simply use bigger words. once you learn what the organism needs to survive, its a relatively simple matter to provide that. to save money, i would suggest fruiting in vitro ala hippie neglect tek. you'll get smaller, more gnarly mushrooms and with far more verm embedded, but if making tea this should pose no problems, and will remove the costs of the fruiting chamber and the perlite. while the wet weight will be significantly reduced, it is primarily due to a lower water content - in other words, the dry weight should remain very comparable. the -only- problem is they will be unfit for eating. only tea or extraction will be a viable option.

also while properly prepared canning jars are ideal, there is a good way to use 8oz drinking glasses/jelly jars you may already possess to grow mushrooms....and a pressure cooker, while generally advised by most teks, is not actually all that important. there are ways around it.

    :)

yea, thats what i got from reading, sterility of the procedure is important. makes perfect sense.

my mom works for the science dept for the school system here...so i'm sure i can get some glass jars

i'm gonna want some i can eat and some to use tea if i do this

then you will want a fruiting chamber. no big deal, one may be had for little money if you do it properly.

make sure the areas in which you prepare the jars and innoculate the jars are absolutely IMMACULATE.

and i mean, sterilize it all. wipe everything down with disinfectant, and if you can you should even avoid excessive airflow.

when i was in my first apartment out of my parents house and could afford to be less discrete about it (at least within the confines of my home) i could use the kitchen according to my whims. obviously thats where you'll need to sterilize the jars anyway.

but my biggest concern is contamination of the syringe's needle in between injections. i used to clean out the little downstairs half-bath of my townhouse REALLY good and do the innoculation in there, with the door closed to prevent airflow. i'd also spray a ton of lysol in the air prior to entry and close the door and let the smell die down and the substance itself be pulled out of the air by gravity. minimal contaminants would then be in the area, present only due to my entering. something of this nature may be your best bet.

keep in mind also that lysol will be one of your best friends in terms of sterilizing the local environment, but it is in fact a terribly effective fungicide as well, so you need to be careful to never let it get in contact with the substrate, spores, or mycellia.

but this is a fun and rewarding way of getting your mushrooms, and you do not need to know a dealer.
