right on man i dont see you on here as much these days. i hope everything is good wishing only for the best every day my man:cheers2:
Haha! ... yeah thats top notch. Probably the nicest way i ever took shrooms was when a friend dried about 2000 liberty caps, ... ground them up and mixed them with a small jar of honey. "A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down."
Oh man...here we go again (reminiscent of my good ol' psychedelic days.) Tea usually hits you harder....Ie. it's more affective. Like zilla said, it has less of a negative "washer machine" affect on your stomach, however it's most likely still gonna feel at least a little "upset" at times. It's interesting....there's a theory that psilocybin is a poison, because well know poisonious mushrooms cause "hallucinations" as well and stomach pain is their most well known documented side affect. I'm assuming you've fried before? (Just not tea) Oh, and if you're eating a panaeolus it's most likely been grown out of cow dung. (Unless of course they were grown indoors) On a side note: I remember the first time I did shrooms, they were the first psychedelic I had done. We did em at a friends house, and I remember trying to comprehend that there was an upstairs (it just seemed too epic!)...then we went outside and WOW....
whoa joe i totally forgot about that lil' diddy shanty note, it cmes from the lips of the lady, but my love she' turned away son
We picked them at the foot of a mountain ,at the top theres a 5000 yr old stone chamber so people have been picin them there for a long time.We boiled them, strained them, spilled some, added 3 tea bags ,some suger and got lost in the woodgrain of the door ,small trip followed by a few joints .Then we did the same again and nothing happened .I was expecthing more .
well maybe if you hadn't boiled them psilocin and psilocybin are fairly heat sensative. not to the extent which LSD is, but still pretty sensitive. best way to lose potency is to boil them....
Hi guys, New here. First post even hehe Here's a fun way to do shrooms. In beer. Friends and I brewed a really tasty ale and added 1/2-3/4 of a gallon of steeped shroom tea to sparge the beer with. Let me tell you, this beer was amazing. Drink 1 and you got a nice body high and clarity for about 5-6 hours. Drink 2 and you were out there. Was a great beer in and of itself and the added bonus of the nice ride made it perfect. How many times have you wished you could just drink one beer and be done for the night This was very good
sounds nice and all, but most folks here haven't got access to the amount of mushrooms necessary to make a bach of beer with it. let alone the knowledge and equipment necessary for homebrewing. however, while i dont generally like the idea of drinking and tripping at the same time, this could be a nice novelty. i've both grown my own mushrooms in the past and brewed my own beer....so in reality this would not be an impossibility, it would just take a lot of preparation (and a LOT of mushrooms!) anyway, i'm curious as to what style you brewed and how it affected the taste, if at all? i'm thinking a bavarian style hefeweizen might be a good bet for this, or else perhaps some form of stout or a milder pale ale.
my only consideration is the sterility of the tea added to the wort prior to adding the yeast. my fear is that this could potentially make things go awry if not done carefully.
I t was actually a golden ale....i brewed the tea with about 10 bags of chamomile/spiced tea. It had a great flavor. Mixed with the ale and the right yeast the beer came out perfect. Id drink the beer without the shrooms it was that good. Honestly, the beer was merely a vehicle and a test. But it came out perfect. We may try it again at the end of the month. We used 2oz last time this time we will try 3 to get more bang from one bottle. Whats nice about the beer also is that once its ready its handy. You dont have to make the tea or even go looking for the shrooms. Go out to the garage grab a beer and off you go. This was about 5 gallons of beer so not bad.
we used the normal sterilization techniques that you would use for brewing any beer. Everything was washed with sterilizing solution and off we went. Maybe in our naivete we got lucky but we will try to prove the process later this month
yeah man i tried it kicks in faster then digesting because water is liquid i thought i was supposed to kill my self once i thought everybody was hiding in the closets or other places and they were just waiting for me to kill my self then they whould come out and say "phew he finally did" then everybody whould clap or get the clap?
yeah, i just mean...the wort has been boiling...its sterile and all....but i'm used to using very cold, refrigerated distilled water to help cool the wort and get it to the 5 gallon amount. boiling the mushrooms is a good way to lose a good bit of potency...so it could, in theory, contaminate the brew. plus i would want it cold and refrigerated, which would allow more time for contamination..... but i could see this being a relatively reliable method once perfected. still, i like making my tea, and when i have beer i want to drink it! i'd be afraid i'd go through them too fast. you might consider making a witbier with the chamomile. thats a nice combination.
Ya that would be nice! Btw we used the tea to bring it up to 5 gallons. Then we used a cooling coil to lower the wort temp so we could pitch the yeast. The shrooms were never boiled just steeped. So losing potency of the shrooms wasnt in question. The tea was of course strained.
yeah, but the issue is if they were wildcrafted rather than fresh and homegrown, then they are covered in all sorts of stuff from their environment, and not boiling them can wash this stuff into the tea. which is fine as tea, but when you want to keep the stuff as clean as possible, could introduce unwanted bacteria or other wild yeasts and so on. nothing that will be dangerous really, just could ruin the taste and quality. i really want a cooling coil. my dad has one, and it works so nicely to reduce the temperature rapidly....i dont have one myself though unfortunately. also he has a nice outdoor butane cooker, so getting several gallons of water to a boil is a piece of cake...can get it hot and ready in about 15 minutes.... oh well, i'm in a dorm right now anyway....brewing anything is currently an impossibility for me regardless. next year maybe i'll have an apartment...then the fun may resume i want to try a saison for my next batch though, when i'm at home this summer. or else a kolsch again...i like that, nice, crisp and refreshing, and no need for a lager yeast (lagering the beer itself helps, too, but you can get a very nice beer at only slightly cooler temps, just a little more of an "ale" flavor...but still remarkably crisp and clean, great for summer and very easy to brew....i modelled my recipe off of the recipe in one of papasian's books....the one using some wheat malt in it as well.....and i just realized all my notes were on this computer...and i didnt back them up before reformatting. DAMN IT!)
We may have been lucky or the shroom gods were guiding our hands Cooling coils are easy to make I think we made ours for like 20 bux tops. Well when we brew later this month and the subsequent tasting in January I will have to let you know if we were able to replicate the process. We took meticulous notes. So hopefully it will work out. Might even be ready to drink for new years eve If it does let me know if you want the recipe hehe
