hey zengizmo, I finally took your advice, and downloaded fight club best...movie...ever man...I thought it was just another one of those movies....it isn't...at all..it's about as close as you can get to channeling a psychedelic trip through a film... plus, I have it on my video player so I can view it whenever I like:hat:
Quite agreed that the essence of it comes down to a point of knowing when and where to draw the line between feeding the ID for the needs of Social survival and simply feeding it to fatten an already obese cow.
Somethings seems to be going on...Recently ive been having deja vu where i KNOW ive seen it in a dream atleast twice a day usually more. I really need to keep a dream diary..
I don't have deja vus that often but i did tonight. I was replacing a selector switch and jack plug in my strat' which was a little daunting, anyway in the midst of doing it i realised i'd experienced that moment before. So i wonder about deja vus ... did i dream it once? I don't remember dreaming it ever, but perhaps it's like remembering the future ... like, upon actually doing it tonight, the memory is triggered and remembered. But i'm chuffed i got it done ... i had to replace an import (enclosed) type selector switch with an open fender type which was a real headache and luckily i realised that whoever last rewired it (when i had a new bridge pickup fitted) had wired the neck and middle pickups the wrong way round. And it all went without a hitch and actually works as it should do! Sounds great Yeah one deja vu i remember well was the first time i played 'Fallout 2' on the PC ... there was this graveyard map and i had to find a particular grave to dig up ... and for some reason i knew exactly where the grave was yet having never played the game before. It seriously started me thinking "Have i just lived my whole life before somehow?", "Am i just going through the motions of something i've already done ... on some level ... somehow?". Deja vus are very odd things indeed!
YESSSS!!! A convert at last!!! That is exactly it - it's not merely a movie, it's a light pointing the way through the darkness to inner reality. Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the novel, is a stinkin' genius - you should check out some of his other novels. And David Fincher, the director of the movie, is also. With a combo like that, you hafta expect at least a minor miracle. And isn't Helena Bonham Carter hot in that movie? LOL She reminds me so much of my spirit guide...Deanna. I've been in contact with her again, after all these years. She told me to ditch the fictitious name I've been using - Emily, which seems fragile. So I'm going for it. Her name is Deanna. I sent her the first chapter of my book a few days ago - about our lunch together in December 2002. Life is funny...
I'm an acoustic guy, myself. Of course if I had a little more money I suppose I might try going electric... There are a few - very few, I think - theoretical physicists who think that all points in time are represented by snapshots of the universe already in existence, varying in time by nanoseconds...so that all events already exist, but our conscious awareness is compelled by some physical force to perceive each snapshot one at a time, in "consecutive" order...except some of us occasionally glimpse something from farther ahead in the consecutive order. Whatever. LOL Who really knows?
Man if the folks couldn't use a lyposuction clinic around here,,, (Yes, I know they could just put the Hardees Thickburger down, but as zengizmo pointed out, some things just taste sooooo good. )
Yea deja vu is wierd..I also noticed that lately i\'ve been realizing many things in my dreams, and learning throughout the dream much like when im high
I haven't heard anybody talk about Hardees since I left Illinois - you must live in the midwest. Yeah, you could get a lot of good soap out of the midwest.
Hardees isn't too shabby...I'm from the midwest, Cincinnati... Ohio is about as mediocre as it gets. I keep on watching fight club and finding new things. like the little "reel switch" that Tyler did, that's totally synonymous with the personality switch and you, you're too fucking....BLONDE!!! this movie is changing my life
I used to drive through Hardees every morning and grab breakfast on my way to work. Egg biscuit and orange juice. That's a good insight, about the reel switch - yeah, a bit of id peeking out, isn't it? It's not just a movie... We just had a near-life experience! LOL Come on, psycho boy... I just felt like destroying something beautiful...
you know what else I found out? in the scene where the doctors telling him about "real pain", while he's talking to him, Tyler Durden flashes in and out so quick you couldn't even notice. I'm sure the director put that there as a result of the whole "reel switch" thing. I've never heard anybody else mention it check it out, its at about 0:34 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md36o8aEtRk
Dangit, now I hafta' go and find a copy somwhere in the middle of this lil' 1 horse hick town I'm in. (Yea, I know,,,,but I've got shite-astick dialup here...)
The same thing happens in ummm I think three other places. They're all around the beginning of the movie, just like the one you saw. There's also a flash of a private part at the end of the movie - did you notice that one? Also, there's a part where Edward Norton is sitting on a bed in a hotel room watching a hotel PR commercial on the TV - look at the waiter on the far right of the TV screen.
