I like the taste of some wines, ciders and spirits, but drinking seems to fuel depression for me, so I generally avoid it.
Yes, I dislike the taste of pure alcohol. I prefer a tasty alcoholic beverage like beer. On the other hand, I rather drink some hard liquor like wodka than wine or champagne. Really hate the taste of that stuff. Aquired taste my ass
I like beer (specifically pale lager--don't care for anything darker) and wine (strongly prefer red). I won't drink liquor anymore unless it's mixed with something else non-alcoholic. It just so happened that during the worst hangover of my life I couldn't get the taste of that whiskey I had had the night before out of my mouth. Nastiest experience of my life. So never again.
Yeah i don't like the taste really at all. Butterscotch scnapps isn't bad and Pina Coladas but like someone else said i wouldn't touch any of it if it's didn't make me feel kind of groovy I am primarily a vodka shot kinda girl mostly because it's efficient (being a cheap drunk means 3 shots and i'm a giggling ball of happiness lol), that and it doesn't give me a hang over
I won't drink non-alcoholic beer because it tastes like shit, so the alcohol must make it taste good. I guess that means I like the taste of alcohol. I like good beer too, but free beer is my favorite.
You should try some of the german ones- Warsteiner, Becks and bitburger all do VERY nice alcohol free beers, in fact I actually prefer the taste of them to their alcoholic alternatives. (not that I dislike the alco ones, they are also very nice...)
If anyone could make a good tasting non-alcoholic beer, it's the Germans. .........I'd try one, although I'd be surprised if I liked it.
I actually think the difference between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer is rather small. But I have to admit I don't drink non-alcoholic beer often It's just so that I drank some non-alcoholic ones on a few occasions in my life without knowing beforehand it weren't the regular ones.
I was surprised myself when I tried one. In this vegetarian Indian restaurant in Holland, they had no real beer so persuaded me to try Warsteiner 0% I once tried Kaliber many years ago, and it tasted like stale piss, which is why I always thought since then that ALL 0% alc beers were shit. Clearly they are not. It's just the same beer with the alcohol taken out somehow, for some reason they tastes a little less bitter and a little more creamy. They are very moreish, and the great thing is they're half the price of normal beer and you can drink as many as you like (although you will still get fat if you drink a lot)
My favorite drink is tequila and O.J...but it has to be Simply Orange...you can't taste the tequila and they go down soo smooth!
I used to sip vodka straight up, and I loved the taste - almost pure 40% ethanol. I like the moldy, mildewy, earthy taste in wine and beer. Of course, I also like camembert cheese...
Some of us have our biochemical quirks. I can't drink non-diet soda or eat a bowl of ice cream - unless I want to risk nearly passing out an hour later and having a crashing headache that lasts for four days. Beer does taste pretty much like carbonated troll pee...so you kinda hafta ease into it. I first drank it after helping load a truck in the middle of summer, and it was ice-cold so I didn't taste it much. Now I drink it at room temperature to taste it better. But beer would probably depress you too, so might as well not get into the habit.
I'm not keen on flat beer or too harsh a taste - though having worked in a cocktail bar, "back in the day" a combination and careful mixture can be quite pleasing and refreshing
The problem I have is that anything alcoholic that is pleasing and refreshing would be 200% more pleasing and refreshing without the ethanol.
