so you're saying our opinions are our own business but then go on to say one is right to alter someone's life drastically because of his opinion? that's contradictory. either a person keeps his opinion as just that, his opinion, or he acts on it which makes it a judgment. you can't have it both ways.

Unfortunately there is no way of knowing what exactly got him kicked off the team.

That statement could have meant anything.

and it's not like the sports business is that sensitive to little white lies, or even big ones anyway. the sports business itself will lie for you if they find it necessary. every damn football player has lied to their coach about one thing or another. it may be in their contract that they can't lie (don't know if it is really) but nobody's gonna fire them when they're caught in the act. so that's a joke.

This isn't about the law or consenting behavior. It's about good judgment. A plastic titted cougar going for an 18 y/o is questionable too. Any of these decisions will bring scrutiny. The team coaches have every reason to suspect that said player on their team might not make very good decisions.

The 18 y/o was of the opinion he could go into the stands and kiss his 65 y/o boyfriend, and it was also his opinion he could lie about it. Those are both actions that, yes, drastically changed his life. Try to remember where the fault originates. Consequences.

Who died and made you the deciding factor on people's lives?
How do you get to judge people's judgement?

If we can all just tell people how bad their actions are, I stand to say that you're comments are bigoted and bitchy. Sounds like you need some 18 year old dick to show you how fun it can be!

There is NO fault! Fact is, IF (since we can't prove it) they kicked him off the team because of a kiss, that is bigoted. And bigotry is the FAULT! The coaches deserve consequences, for making harsh decisions. It's bullshit to kick someone off a sports groups because they love someone, whether it's "normal" or not!

Methinks The Team Player Should Be Judged On His Decisions On The Playing Field,

And Not On His Decisions In His Private Life...:).

To be fair to calgirl, she would have just started off with the usual assumptions that may not be true

First off, the guy was on the football team, out and proud especially you dont really do that unless you can take care of yourself

Theres nothing to say the relationship is actually sexual, or if it is definately doesnt automatically mean the older one is the one that wears the pants as it were.

Most hearing of a 65 yr old with an 18 yr old, to try visualise it, will imagine THEIR Grandad. nooo Nooo Nooo

But if the guy looks like Harrison Ford, then young Jamie would have most girls his age going "Ohhhhhhhh, that's soooooo sweeeeet" (gay as BTW) or getting bitchy at him for it

And have Older women with a similar "unhealthy" kind of mindset - which he'll just translate as meaning - Unless you find a nice girl, settle down and have babies you'll end up miserable - which he's not going to listen to anyway

And a bunch of other people freakin out, when they may not even be having sex. Acting like he's being taken advantage of.

Whereas from Jamies perspective, every straight guy smaller than him gets nervous around him, every straight guy his size or on the team acts tough, but then does stuff like go tattle tale on him, every female batshit crazy and this 65 yr old one of the few that does actually seem normal.

I can guarantee it wouldnt be like most would assume

you are judging two people you've never met in your life. you only know them through internet news articles, through the perspective of what some reporter you also don't know has decided to put in his report. you don't know what kind of people those two guys are, and you haven't seen how they are with each other. and you judge their relationship 'harmful'.

and then you talk about good judgment...

I don't know who they are, and neither do any of you. Maybe you are blindly supporting a very perverted and dangerous situation. Maybe you are judging it to be far more innocent than it is. FU Dixie....for the neg rep, and the accusations of bigotry. You are judging me you twit. Very true statement glenglen....he should be judged for his performance on the field. It probably sucked and they're glad to have a reason to get rid of him.

All you dreamers.....life is not about a goal of happy. That is exactly what precedes bad politics and bad business.

no none of us here knows the two. but none of us besides you is actually judging this specific relationship. others have opposed the idea of a guy getting kicked off his team for being in a relationship with a male much older than he, or supported a persons right to be with whomever they choose. you're the only one judging their relationship bad ('harmful') based on your opinion on age gap relationships. you're the only one who seems to take it personally.

he should be judged for his ability on the field, as far as being on the team goes. however, if it sucked, it's kinda odd how he started to suck right after the kiss and not before or much later after it. and it is also funny how earlier you stated that the coaches should take his judgment in a choice of a partner under consideration when judging his skills on the football field. now you try to turn it around.

take a moment to calm down, cause your heightened emotionality has interfered with you ability to see things clearly on this thread.

oh shut up meridianwest. I'm not judging; I'm only making statements about how it could be looked at.

You all went into with such bias about how anyone can do anything they want if it's consenting. You all assume that it's discrimination because the guy is gay. You all jump to say it's unfair insinuating, AS USUAL, that there is always a victim. That is such a crock. Look at it without thinking about personal freedom and instead about the best interest of everyone. Especially the 18 y/o. He is still just a developing person with another 10 years before reaching a more mature phase. He is probably being manipulated and exploited.

I'm not upset, nor do I take it personal. I don't put up with insults either, or listen to shit that just isn't true. If you're going to be a jerk, I'll make sure you know it.
