    if you have trouble finding bandmates and you don't mind producing your music electronically you can collaborate on projects through email using programs like Reason. up until recently my friend and i were helping each other to write music through email like that. just an idea! : )

    I agree, music seems to be at a stand still. there's the occasional local indie band that has amazing music.

    a great psychedelic band from canada is Black Mountain. amazing group. their song no hits cannot be explained in words.

    If you've never played music with a bunch of people at least one time in your life while under the influence of psychedelic drugs then your music, if you were to ever play, would suck hardcore and you couldn't pay me to even listen to it.

    ^^

    very true. hard work is what makes a musician. the hours I've spent slaving over my instrument has made me a better musician. but drugs have helped music flow more naturally.

    I used to really think it would, but it did do this for me;

    After doing acid I REALLY opened up my musical taste
    I started listening to everything

    Obviously doing acid isn't going to teach you new scales and transitions or lines
    its not going to pop a note or two into your head
    I agree with that somewhat, but really, society as a whole was much more organic and creative in that era
    It wasn't acid alone, it was the type of society that accepted acid use that really led to such talent and chaste ways

    Its like how punk skaters and goths and junkie rebels and dirty 80s raggy kids and gangsters all do drugs

    Its not the drugs that made them who they are
    Its them who in living that lifestyle do drugs and walk the way they walk, talk the talk, etc

    same here....countless hours of just sitting down and playing and playing sometimes the same things over,and over just to perfect it. playing in a band also helps build talent alot too,so if ur not in one yet u should definatly consider at least trying to get into one u have no idea the wonders it could do.
