I myself prefer big cities....yeah i love all those crowds...and all this mess...green parks where you can just sit and read a book or listen to music watching people
But i also adore countryside....but i guess not to live there but to have holidays or smth like that

I'm a country girl for sure...like to be reasonably close to a town/small city for people contact, etc., but give me country living...absolutely.

Looks-wise, people normally think I'm a city girl, but I'm definitely a country girl at heart.

I enjoy both very much but in the end I'm a country person. Lived in the country all my life, well, don't know if that's the reason. But I rather wake up and see the sun with trees or a horizon than hearing the usual streetnoise. For the next few years though, I'm happy to live in a roaring but nice city. :)

I should have been born on a farm or something because I love animals and the nature and all the outdoorsy stuff... hiking, kayaking, rock climbing... But I also like cities because I like having lots of people around me. I've always lived in a city (but then I grew up in Finland where the biggest city means about 500,000 people and there are more trees than there are people  ) and I like it just fine, but when (if) I grow up and have a family I'd prefer to live in the countryside somewhere, in a forest maybe and by a beautiful lake (or on the seaside), not isolated from the society but definitely have some distance to it.

good question. Ive lived in small towns/countryside most of my life, but for this year Im living in Berlin on an exchange trip, so Im in a big bustling city. its hard to say which I like better. I love the city and just having all these crazy people and sitautions you get into- Ive met sooooooo many crazy, cool, weird, poeple being in the city, for example last night at 1 in hte morning I was walking home and met some other 17 year olds as I was walking and we talked and it turned out they live near me so now we're gonna chill. I love stuf flike that. And theres always all the weird, crazy, exciting, scary, cool, interseting, hilarious things you see in the city.

But I DEFINITELY miss being able ot walk out my bedroom door and having the woods RIGHT outside my door. here I have to go to a park, and while Ilove parks, I just miss the natural woods. at home ,I usually just go out and wander by myself in the woods for hours, thinking about stuff, not havin to worry about doing anything, or anyone being with me...complete privacy and peacefulness. I love just laying in my hammock in the woods and staring at everything going on- the branches scratching together in the wind, birds hopping from branch to branch, frogs croaking in our pond, just hte music of the woods.

AScutally, come to think of it, i REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALY miss my house in the US in the woods....oh well. Ill be back in July.

    hehe

I live in Melbourne and I LOVE the city. But I'm a pretty laid back person. I love the country too, but I probably wouldn't be able to live there for very long.

i like to visit cities, but i would never want to live in one. i kinda am in between a small city and the country, and i think i have lived in this scenario for some time. i like the accesability to the city, but i love to retreat back to my quiet home, away from it all.

eventually, when/if i can ever buy a house, we want acres of land and few people around. my man and I are slowly converting to part-time reclusivity, and it is nice

I grew up right outside of Philadelphia. So I loved going into the city and the busyness of it all. Then I went to New York City and felt so overwelm and small in that big city. But yet two years ago I moved further out west and I enjoy the peacefulness of the country area. As much as I enjoy the city and also the country.. I could deal with both, although I love the fields and open spaces of the country. So freeing.

I'm from middle town in Poland. Well, I like be alone, but sometimes I want to go to city centre or anything else. But if i will have a choose, I will choose big city. not middle but big. The middle cities mostly are so boring(in my country).

I live in the country now. I hate it. I live a half hour away from anything at all. All the cool stuff is an hour away... I don't know anyone around here, and i am surrounded by rednecks.

Thinking about moving to a medium-sized city in a couple months.

I grew up in the country and I live right out in the country now, the nearest department store is a four hour drive and there are absolutely no fast food chains etc - BLISS! There was an in between bit of my life where I lived in various big cities London, Philly, Athens and I don't miss the city at all. I recently had to go to London and no sooner had I got there than I was desperate to leave. I was also down in Brighton visiting my big kids and it was almost as bad. I like wide open spaces. Can't be doing with all this living in eachothers pockets.
