For every illegal immigrant that works for an equal wage, there is another one who is currently getting shafted. My brother-in-law is Mexican and happens to work with quite a few illegals on a regular basis. The Mexican's with REAL visas and green cards get paid on-time, every time. Their money is always right as well. Those working around my brother-in-law, without real visas and greencards, often end up quiting after months of working with no pay. The guy who runs the show knows they really can't do anything without placing themselves in harms way, so he takes advantage of the situation. Why would he hire a born American with a real SSN when he can trick somebody else into working for free?

Dunno about Georgia, but I know that shit happens on a regular basis here in neck of the woods.

 

well if that sort of thing does happen here its happening by the actions of there own people..
here the ones who are the OBVIOUS illegals are almost always ran by a person from there home country who has been in the sates for a while..
im not saying there are not exceptions,for that matter i know a white subcontractor right now who has been carrying around a 3000 dollar check for a month and a 1700 dollar check for 2 weeks because the account they were drawn on has insufficient funds in it..

its not just the hispanics that get shafted in the construction industry. a person with unscrupulous morals doesnt care if the tradesman is mexican or white hes gonna fuck whoever takes the bait..

i should clarify that dilli was with a illegal for 6 years and speaks fluent spanish,in the 4 years she worked with me we developed quite a good relationship with all the hispanic crews we come into contact with and that relationship carries on today.so i feel i am more than qualified to make the statements i am making.. as you stated,at least in my neck of the woods..
