I enjoy watching Who's line is it anyway, and Animal Planet on mute with some crazy music and a joint. If I don't have anything better to do that is, and most of the time, I do. And TV could never, ever beat a book. Unless it's a film by F.F.Coppola, Cubrik or any one of those great (and few) directors who know how to put art on your screen. And that's about all I watch.

It's so cool to look down on TV, but I can't help but wonder if the people who do so are any less conformist than the people who do. Conformity is rooted in the desire to identify as being part of a group, and here you are on the Internet, going on and on about living the hippie lifestyle because that's who you say you are. You watch hippie films, read hippie books, listen to hippie music, have hippie hobbies, take hippie drugs, have hippie attitudes, wear hippie clothes, and basically indulge with enthusiasm all the most obvious and annoying hippie anachronisms. Hate to break it to you, but that's conformity too.

There is plenty that's worthwhile on TV... in fact, there are some TV shows out there that are arguably superior to great films, and some of them have more to say than some novels. There is good art and bad art in every medium... TV is no exception.
