I actually like Desert Rose better than this song... but I haven't been able to manage to find it. Cliffs of Dover is so... 80s sounding. lmao.

Egh... I don't know who my favorite acoustic player is. Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed, Mississippi John Hurt, Tommy Emmanuel, Adrian Legg, Leo Kottke, Doyle Dykes, Mark Hansen, etc. I really like Tim Reynolds, as well. Dave often gets nudged about his excessive power chord usage, but I like his stuff, but I like him better with Tim Reynolds. Boyd Tinsley is a really good solo artist. I've seen the area where Dave lives over in Charlottesville. I haven't been to one of his shows since 1999... I first went to one around '93 or so, in DC. I like it because I grew up to it and he started as a local musician....

I play the guitar, but I'm far from talented.

I used to play the record in primary [grade] school, was reasonably okay all things considered.

We had to learn the keyboard in high school, was total and utter bollocks at it. Haven't touched one since ninth grade when we could drop music lessons (no coincidence)

Am perhaps a reasonable singer, certainly like it, and haven't had any death threats or anything. :) but wouldn't sing in front of an audience or record myself (bad experience).

Thought about learning to play the guitar, but never got round to it. Don't know or care if I'd be any good. Just be kind of nice to be able to pick one up and do a few tunes as a party piece.

I'm pretty sure talent is partly genetic, read an article mentioing that. And it can't be coincidence that everyone in my family is lousy.

Oh yeah, singing... man, I love singing. I've been doing it moreso lately, and I will be a better singer than Meg someday :D

 I played a Takamike TNV360SCK at NAMM... Quite odd, but it's a bit too much, though. $2100 for a new one, but it has a tube preamp, which I've never seen in anything else. Takamines remind me of Maton guitars. Tommy Emmanuel used to play them. I want to get a Martin 000 or an OM, as they're more fingerstyle friendly than a D-35. I mean, it'll cut it, but it just doesn't give the response I want for fingerstyle. I play a lot of Chet-style stuff... :p I don't like most of the new Fender-owned Guild 12 strings... ick, I like mine, though. I got into them after hearing Keller Williams play his JF30-12, so I got one.

There is nothing wrong with a freedom of speech, nor is there anything wrong with a freedom of knowledge, if you know where to draw the line yourself.
