Yes there is the act of choosing what we see as relative value. we give up one valuable thing for a greater valuable thing. In respect to the passion play, Jesus is not choosing between greater and lesser value, he is displaying a single devotion. The whole thing was choreographed, intended to happen. The whole idea that sacrifice is good is intended to get you to do things you don't want to do, and is a cultural/traditional device for consolidating power.
oh , sweet heaven on earth . the divine anarchy - of all people living in peace loving god . the time of kings , presidents and even the rule of law may pass away and every little thing gonna be alright . if this be ok with you , you will help make it happen and the whatever how of it need no leader to direct it . even my mean old daddy's getting wise to this , godblessum .
Just going by what you just said, it appears that Jesus sacrificed himself. “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will.”
I would say that this is momentary trepidation about the pain and agony to come, not that he wanted for his life. My food is to do the will of the one who sent me. and this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. Truly truly I say to you unless a grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies it bears much fruit. Nevertheless I tell you the truth , it is to your advantage, for if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. No one takes my body from me. Father, glorify thou me in thy own presence with the glory I had with thee before the world was made. In the sense that he choose a better thing, you could say he sacrificed. In the sense that he gave up something he preferred to keep, he did not.
lamb of G-d you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.. G-d knows this cookie is funny and that is GOOD..;p
The question here should be what is good? Maybe what us see as good may actually not be, so then God would not be good.... Idk just tried being all philosophical, haha
How is it that what is loosed on earth is also loosed on heaven? Because heaven and earth are diametrically opposed perspectives of the same phenomena. Heaven is not a locale apart from everyday life. The "earth" perspective is pay to play, mammon. Mammon's motto, give little and expect a lot. This is profit or bargain. The "heavenly" perspective, do as you will, the Sabbath. Heavenly motto, the measure you give is the measure you get, to have all give all. You cannot serve two masters. It is either the desire for mercy or the demand for sacrifice.
This was attributed to Jesus; "In the sense that he choose a better thing, you could say he sacrificed. In the sense that he gave up something he preferred to keep, he did not." I don't think so.
