How would it be any more or less rude than saying "yo, waz up dude" or "yo was up bro?" edit: It's like the evolution of the word gay.. It used to mean happy. Do you go around chastising homosexuals for using the word incorrectly?
You know what, I started typing a whole long response, but the truth is that based on your perspective I can already tell that it's gonna be pointless trying to reason with you ... there is just too much you are not taking into account.
Don't call me white, don't call me white I wasn't brought here, I was born Circumsized, categorized, allegiance sworn, Does this mean I have to take such shit For being fairskinned? No! I ain't a part of no conspiracy, I'm just you're average Joe. Don't call me white, don't call me white
um okay. but seriously, just answer this question IMO, it would be disrespectful of their position to speak in such a familiar way. But the specific words nigga, dude, bro, homie are all equally inoffensive. Not that it needed to be said, but I'm black. Not african american. Not half anything. I'm 100% american and 100% black.
OK, so straight up ... How can you expect a person to get into a conversation like this when you can't even make the effort to wiki a word that comes up that you don't know the meaning of. ... And then there is the 'outsider' bit that you brought up. We can't possibly have a constructive reasoning if this is your approach ... it's pointless to go any further. PS. On the 'outsider' aspect ... I take it that you are opposed to all US occupations.
The reason I don't want to comment on Kaffir is that i'm not talking about kaffir. You suggested that no one is using kaffa as an alternative to kaffir and there doesn't seem to be anyone using it as anything other than a derogatory slur, so how is it relevant? The main thrust of my argument is usage. The people who use the word nigga do not mean it in a derogatory manner. It is used differently than the word ******. Usage is the key. How you use a word is what matters. Yea, I'm opposed to occupation as a general concept. I'm honestly not sure where you're going with that. edit: I wanted to add, if you want to contend that nigga is offensive separately then I can see that. Some black people like to distance themselves from the word for whatever reason. Chris rock for example draws a distinction between "niggas" and ordinary black people that would be equivalent to the difference between white trash and ordinary white people. I can allow that kind of distinction, but still see the difference between that and ****** which is purely a derogatory racial slur, while nigga becomes a judgment on class.
I see where you were thrown off by "outsider." I don't mean because you're not american or any such thing.. I meant outside of my hypothetical conversation. As neither the speaker nor the intended recipient, you aren't in a position to accurately judge the intent behind any word usage. For example, two male friends may jokingly refer to each other as fags. It's common, juvenile but common. Now the two friends know there is no disrespect between each other, where as outsiders you or I might consider it a hate crime or something, but we'd be wrong
Seriously MP, if you and other peeps think it's cool to use the 'N' word, that's your trip ... I don't dig it, no matter who it is, it can be the most awesome Hip Hop artist / s, whatever ... I'm just not keen and I agree with those and their reasoning, particularly Rasta and AntiFa, that don't agree with it. But anyway, blab blab, it's your trip One Love!
LOL, well okay I'll admit I had you pegged wrong.. I thought you were the type who sees black people calling each other nigga and want to use that as justification to use the word ******. I see instead that you're just the overly PC type who is afraid of words that might be offensive to someone, somewhere.. I stand by my answer to the original question: Black people don't call each other niggers. ****** != nigga
Nope, that stems from your imagination ... I thought I was pretty clear about my position though, which is that I think trying to achieve a constructive reasoning with you is pointless ... and I stand by that Jah Bless EDIT: Hold On, why is this still going on?
No, that was a jab at you. A provocation meant to illicit a response. As I understand it, your opinion is that some mysterious word beginning with the letter N (Ninja? Nincompoop? Nigerian?) is too offensive for use among civilized people. I don't agree, but I don't see it as altogether unreasonable. What I do see as unreasonable is anyone's refusal to see ****** and Nigga as separate words. They have different definitions. They are pronounced differently. They are spelled differently. Most importantly, they are used differently. By what objective measure can you declare they are the same word?
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ...
