Actually there IS a correspondence. In classical astrology the humors were also character types as well as fluids. Actually humor is Latin for fluid. Choler is fire (hot and dry) Sanguine is air (hot and moist) Phlegm is water (cold and moist) Melancholy is Earth (cold and dry) The signs were divided into three groups called the triplicities: Fire: Aries, Leo, Sgaittarius (Choleric) Water; Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces (Phlegmatic) Air: Libra, Aquarius, Gemini (Sanguine) Earth: Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo

Probably you are,(at least Aries always thinks so). You certainly have the enthusiasm and drive to be the best, and be a winner. Think of an Aries as a greek olympian or warrior. To conquer, create and be glorified is Aries motto. With some aries in a chart, you can see a bit of creativity too. You have confidence in yourself, you trust yourself, and you are personally the best person you know. Aries is the warrior of the zodic; usually happy, and very honest. It's easy to pull the wool over an aries eyes sometimes. They can be very childlike, and long for an adventure. They have a strong sence of honor.
i was just saying that with all the posts on sun sign, and what sign is your favorite etc. it is nice to find some more in depth posts, delving deeper and beyond sun sign astrology. (not that there is anything wrong with those posts. ) but i dont think you have to be an astrologer to already know what you have posted. i may not be one officially but i know good bit too.
You seem to know what your talking about in your threads. I have just been studying since 1995. I don't mean to brag that I know more that anyone else, just that it is a main focus for me and not just a curiosity. I understand your comment. I like serious conversation mysellf. No need to get testy. I was just commenting that I know a lot about astrology hoping to get ppl to talk a little in depth. You know the feeling behind words on the internet often get misinterpereted.
yes. lol, its probably the way we react to the written word or indirect communication, when we dont have one on one emotional and body cues with the other person, is just a reflection of our subconcious or ingrained patterns of reaction...and its correlation to the natal chart. so it wasnt exactly what you said, it was my hypersensitive/defensive reaction to it, lol. how do you feel about western astrology elements compared to the five elements of chinese astrology? do you feel that chinese astrologys rising sign is like western astrologys sun sign?
Nice. Im airy and earthy, with my sun, moon and mercury in aquarius and saturn, neptune and uranus in cap. With a firey aries ascendant, mars and jupiter. Lack of water though...
I know Vedic uses square birth charts rather than round why I don't know. Another fact is the Moon is more important that the sun. Hindu astrology is called Vedic, or also Jyotish.
Always fascinating to meditate on the elements. Goes back to the Greeks. What happens when water mixes with air, fire, earth; when air mixes with earth, fire, water, etc. Particularly interesting when you look at your own chart and/or compare yours to a potential partner or family member. And what the results are when you're lacking an element or two or three, in extreme cases. Saddam Hussein is missing both air and water. With no water there's little or no compassion for others. No Fire, and there's little or no risk-taking abilities. No air, and no intellectual detachment. No earth, and it's difficult to manage your money. I have too damn much earth and I'm always attracting people who lack earth and I don't WANT someone with no earth in my life. I seek out balanced people who all the elements in place in their personal placements. I can sort of intuit when I meet someone if they're balanced or not or missing an element or two. I oftentimes ask myself if I were to be reborn and I had a choice of lacking an element in my future chart, which one would I most want excluded, if I had no other choice, and I'd probably exclude water. I envy these sociopathic types who waltz through their lives never considering the feelings of others. It would be a nice break from my current chart, always considering other's peoples feelings. Both my parents had no water in their personal placements and when I grew up I hated them for that, being inconsiderate of my feelings as well as others, but damn it! They had a good life despite it all! Very fun-loving people, always out to have fun. Air and water are the most difficult elements to reconcile in a chart. As to be predicted, air dehydrates water. I've met so many air/water types and it seems like the water takes a back seat and all you hear and see it the air. What happened to the water. all dehydrated by those Aquarian, Gemini, Libran placements? My triple Pisces sister is typical of that, and when I talk to her all I hear coming through is the Argumentative Aquarian. SO SO SO detached! And Aquarius is more detached from its feelings than Libra and Gemini combined. When I think Aquarius I Immediately think DETACHMENT! I'm just thankful I don't have an air/water disposition. I was involved with one one time. Oh lord! Detached one day, too attached the next, detached one hour, attached the next hour. You wake up with that person and you have no idea who that person is going to be that particular day or the next few hours. Like living with a yo-yo!
