my point is simple; there are weed addicts that have perfectly normal social lives.

 

well the thing is - although i can see where you're coming from and completely understand the logic behind it; bottom line is people think they are in control of their habit while high.. and incidentally, people are more inclined to post in this forum while high. also, there's a lot of ignorant pot smoking teens who wish not to read what they may refer to as an anti-cannabis thread.. especially in a marijuana forum..

i want attention, yes, i want attention from weed addicts who need help, and people interested in helping them. i don't want attention from bratty little kids who have nothing better to do than insult someone to increase their e-reputation and impress their e-buddies.

 

i totally agree, that's my exact viewpoint on weed, especially considering the negative effects for me (laziness and shit) are things i had anyway, i've always been exceptionally lazy.

however there are A LOT of people who are dependent on weed for enjoyment, dependent on weed for practically everything; these are the people this is aimed at.

You are right there are a lot of people that depend on weed on a day to day basis. But the majority of folks here on hip forums are not those horribly addicted people you are referring too. The majority here are out going individuals that do have a life outside marijuana.

 

i used to smoke all day everyday and i quit... it was fun, and it still is when i smoke occasionally but i used to be the guy that "liked" being alone and who didnt care about interacting with people, eventually i came to a realization that its not for me.... i believe that when people smoke all day everyday weed takes over a certain part of them, im not for that, but then i again i see no problem with tokin up here and there...

please dont criticize if you havent been a pothead and quit for at least a month cold turkey.... i mean if some people out there feel NO effects at all which i personally doubt than more power to you, and do what you enjoy, but with me it was like i enjoy it while im high n then when im not i figure its just not worth it to smoke alll day n b high for the majority of the day.:cheers2:

I'm not trying to insult anybody or start anything, but I have a point to make:

If I walked in front of a bunch of cops and said "Hey you fat pigs!", things might not go over well. Do you think I could say "Oh, it wasn't intended at you, because you aren't fat"? The title does sound accusational, just as saying "hey you fat pigs!" would.

During my freshman year of college I really started smoking weed more. My two roommates hated it, and even though I never smoked in front of them, they judged me for it.

Now, two years later, I look at us and our social circles. Neither of them have made many friends, and they spend all their spare time playing World of Warcraft. I smoke pot and then go out to play tennis, or to skateboard/snowboard; I toke and play my guitar outside with friends in my hall. While they sit in their cocoons I'm breaking out of mine.

you can become psychologically addicted to anything, weed has a higher potential than most things because there's a definite reward from doing it.

just like in my example, i'm calling all fat policewomen.

now carrying on this example, what happened in this topic was mainly policemen who are insecure about their weight coming in and saying "FAT!!!! I'M NOT FAT!!!! YOU'RE JOKING!!!!" when it wasn't even addressed to them.

when did the general level of reading comprehension drop so much? for a free speech forum, there isn't much speech, just a lot of no-content insults.

Haha, why did you even think about starting this thread in the first place if you knew it was going to cause uneccessary contraversy? But, I can see how you aren't really being generalistic because you used the term "marijuana addicts" which is just aimed at the "addicts". I think it's funny if anyone says that because it's such a joke to say "marijuana addict", it just sounds really rediculous!
