Ok. Now I'll Post again to help us understand each other better.

First off, I would like to say that I object to any name calling, ordering or derogatory speech in this thread. That includes telling dave to leave, dave addressing a "general" drop in level or reading comprehension (in the middle of a response to my post, but whatever, that's not the point), even me getting carried away using the term "pigs" to describe police. I find the general nature of this thread to be very inflamatory, from pretty much every side. I include myself in this.

Now dave, it seems to me that you are very selective with your words, and one minute everything is to be taken literally and the next something is metaphorical or an example. Not that this is a bad thing, all this shows is that it may be difficult to always understand what you are saying or implying, whether it is insulting or not. This isn't an attack; all I'm saying is that this contributed to the misunderstanding.

Furthermore, you say you smoke ganja. Many people who work with substances such as this are touchy on misinformation, as am I. Now, this means that when they feel something is incorrect as a fact, they will direct their attention to the subject with the intent to correct the information. As you said earlier, you do not experience withdrawl symptoms from ganja, as in you are not physically addicted to it; you can also become psychologically addicted to anything. So, when the term "weed addicts" was used, it basically drew a crowd intent on making sure the data in the thread was correct. Especially since the term "addict" has been used in a derogatory manner by so manny people. However, I do say that we may have jumped the gun on your thread, which also contributed to the misunderstanding.

Now, I do agree with the premise. You get what you put in, and smoking ganja every day simply "just because" (or if you feel like life isn't worth living without the herb) in my opinion ruins the experience. However, I believe that the thread could have sounded more neutral; a simple "if you abuse it, it will abuse you, think about it" would have been sufficient. Not to say that what you posted doesn't get the message across, but it seems to come off rough (like a teacher, parent or cop) rather than intellectually (like somebody who has been there before and truly knows what he's talking about, and who is there for you and will help you).

Again, I do not agree with the hatred or coldness in this thread, any of it, by anybody, even the insults spewed by me. I do apologize for this, and hope that we can understand each other. Perhaps we could make the best of the situation by eliminating this thread and making a new one that isn't filled now with 12 or 13 pages of inflamatory remarks and bickering, that is perhaps what would help people the most. It is your thread though, and I will let you do with it as you wish.

^good post, enjoyable read, i agree with most of it.

though me saying there was a general drop, or should i say complete lack of reading comprehension by most users is justified, as most people responded in such a moronic manner that they can't have read my posts fully or properly. or they may just lack the mental acuity to understand what i was saying.

you can become psychologically addicted to anything, yes, but weed has a high potential for psychological addiction, as it stimulates reward pathways in the brain.

of course marijuana can be psychologically addictive, just like anything

but there are very fine lines separating responsible marijuana ingestion, psychological marijuana addiction, and "hiding away from society in your marijuana cocoon"

I didnt read this thread but for those who are hanging on, I am going to say that many people are addicted to marijuana, and that it is very true that you 'weed addicts' should get out of your 'marijuana cocoons' and experience the world.

However, plenty of stoners do get out and do lots of things, especially when they are young and just getting into the smoke.

As well as this, it is dumb to go into a weed forum and tell ppl to stop smoking weed.

But it is also dumb to keep claiming that you cant be addicted to marijuana

It is nothing at all like wanting to eat lots of chocolate

That doesnt really affect the point. I know hardcore cigarette smokers and that sort of addiction is different to marijuana addiction

weed stimulates reward pathways in the brain, i think chocolate does as well but the effect is minor in comparison; weed has a much higher potential for psychological addiction than chocolate, but chocolate addiction is the same type of addiction as weed addiction.

both are unrelated to cig addiction, which is a physical dependency on nicotine + psychological addiction in most cases.

Yes, because that is physical and psychological addiction.

Marijuana and chocolate can only be associated with a psychological addiction.

psychologic addiction can be stopped easily. if the person doesnt want to quit theyre not going to quit. theres many drugs on this planet that are addicting that arent harmful. unless you abuse marijuana its not at all harmful just like caffeine if you drink a little nothing wrong with that but if you abuse it, it can kill you. Your taking from your own experiences and thinking everyone does it this way, in which a lot of people probally do but i still dont see the point why your trying to preach to crowd that doesnt care and even if you yourself do these kind of things, so what is the point that your trying to make-- hypocracy?

I'm sure a lot of people could get psychologically addicted to weed, if they believe that such an addiction is impossible, and deny it.

however, if you accept the fact that weed can by psychologically addicted, I don't see how you could allow such an addiction to happen... unless you truly believe that you are imperfect without pot

    where I'm going with this...

Well, your need to feel justified, in my opinion, makes others feel wronged.

Which is why so many people came at you on the attack.

Someone once told me, that you attract what you expect.

What did you expect when you made this thread?

need to feel justified? i think you're misunderstanding my use of the word or something.

i feel that if someone makes a statement on the internet or real life (people calling me a troll, me saying people are stupid) they should justify the statement, rather than just making the statement and hitting post. most of the responses are like this, boring insults with no explanation of what the problem is.

what did i expect? read back through some of my posts, one of them i listed out some posters who responded maturely and normally. i expected better reading comprehension and a higher level of general drug knowledge for one thing.

like Gsmall a few posts above, who has basically amalgamated a few previous posts in this topic together then regurgitated it, he obviously hasn't read the topic because he's just assumed so much crap, i didn't even say most of the stuff he's complaining about.
