Hey Dennis, Thanks. I've only got an hour in Anchorage before my flight to Fairbanks. Can't delay. My lovely wife has been splitting wood and feeding sled dogs in the forty below cold snap the interior has had for the last week without me. I'll take you up on ot next time down there. peace Phillip
Freein: Have a good trip home, the Mrs. is probably hoping to get some help and break watch. Maybe we can get together in July when the reds are running, I'll show you my "secret fishing spot" . PM me when you get home.....Dennis....
It's the result of solar winds flowing through the earth's magnetosphere. In the Fall of 1859 the Aurora was supposedly so spectacular it was possible to read news print at night in cities throughout the Northeast united states Hotwater
Thanks Hotwater: There went another bit of magic out of our lifes. I always told my kids it was "Fairy dust". My youngest daughter is the same age as you. God I hope she doesn't find out it's not "Fairy dust". It would break her heart and lose faith in ol'dad..............
I'd like to see a reliable predictor of their visibility in the northern hemisphere- I'd very much like to see them again.
What do you mean there went a bit of magic out of our lives I meant it was the result of solar winds flowing through X-men extraordinaire Magneto, one of the primary members of the brotherhood of mutants Hotwater
hotwater: Thanks guy, for setting me straight. Just as long as those solar winds don't blow to hard and lose the "Fairy dust". Or Magneto doesn't keep his end of the bargain up.......Dennis
You'd think the people would be frightened...they wouldn't have really known what it was. I was fortunate to see this only once but it certainly wasn't as intense as these pictures - they're beautiful.
While I'm sure there were cries in the night of doomsday and this was but a portent of things to come, I'm sure most observers were simply in awe Hotwater
I'm going to see this with my own eyes for sure. Don't know when yet, but I will! Nothing beats the art of nature. I saw two bright falling stars last night and I just felt my heart jump. This looks even more magical.
whoa! i want to see them for myself one day! and that last pic would probably make a sweet album cover...
