We have a 3 in one crib for our youngest baby... its nice because she won't be using it really until she is able to use the bed part of it and in the meantime its a nice place to put all her clothes, blankets and other little things. Her space is organized and in the open so all I have to do is hold her in one arm and reach right in to get what I want with everything in view. The 3 in one you can use her whole life so in my opinion... good investment. I'm sure I'll find other uses for it too along the way. Someone mentioned using a crib as a toybox... that may be something to do with it too. hehehe my daughter LOVES her snuggly swaddle blanket sleeper. I hate putting blankets on or around her because she is so little I'm afraid she'll suffocate. She loves the warmth and swaddle effect and she is completely safe all night in it. I don't think I could have survived this first week without it. One night she didn't have it because I washed it and she woke up constantly kicking off her blanket I'd swaddled her in. She def. seemed unhappy. I know this might seem pointless but have a couple preemie outfits onhand. All three of my babies were born smaller sized, even my son who was overdue was born and too small for regular 0-3 month clothing. You never know what size they'll be! Check out baby thrift stores, they sell everything nice and gently used but cheap. The reason why it was so nice to have the preemie clothes is because the 0-3 months were falling off and in the way during feedings. It also scared me because I'd worry all night about it pushing up and covering baby's face. BTW I have an ISIS manual breast pump... it works great.
