Yesterday and today I went barefoot the entire time at the Holiday Inn Express in Howe IN (across the border from Sturgis MI) I checked in yesterday barefoot without incident. I went down to breakfast other patrons wore flip flops but I was barefoot. No one even cared. I should also point out that i was the only black person there as well. The people treated me well.

leave and find a place you can walk around in with no one telling you that have to wear shoes if you don't want to.

Sounds like ya have a cool manager.

That should be the goal at a hotel, make the people feel at home. Not push a cold authoritarian business feel..... That's not what makes people come back to a business selling a home away from home.

We stayed in a hotel not too long ago, and I walked all around barefoot and nobody said anything to me. I got a few looks when I was eating breakfast though.
Anyway, I'd just sneak around it or where barefoot sandals or something.
