I Think He's Rather Cute Actually, I'd Just Shave Those Hairy Legs, Get Rid Of The Beard..'s, Persuade Him To Grow A Set Of Dreads, And Then If His Father Bought Us Equal Shares In A Winery, I'd Bonk his Brains Out, Until Death Do Us Part..... Cheers Glen.
It seems kind of pointless to consciously go bare feet. Like something you need to think of doing. In the summer, walking down my neighborhood to the beach bare feet made perfect sense, and I did it without thinking. It was natural. But I mean, to go bare feet for the sake of doing it, as a conscious effort seems to defeat the whole purpose and seems pointless. I mean, hippies seem stubborn sometimes, or refuse to realize the practical reasons for shoes. Like, when it is bloody freakin' cold out, or to avoid tetanus or so people don't have to smell your funk. And like I said, you won't go bare feet in some countries, trust me. Seems kind of naive sometimes in that sense, like some people need to grow up and experience more. Time and a place for bare feet I think.
well, a barefooted person can't take of their dirty shoes at the door and walk on my whitish carpet. my damned feet are so dirty i have to pumice stone the filth away. it's ground in.
I think you may see it in the wrong light. I don't think it's a "movement" to get everyone to walk around barefoot as it is a freedom movement. The USA and Australia / New Zealand have very similar cultures, yet in the USA a barefoot person is either discriminated against by some businesses or they will get nasty or grossed out looks by other patrons. In Australia, especially New Zealand, I have heard that half the people go barefoot (everywhere) and half the people wear shoes. They just look at it like "he likes to wear shoes, she doesn't like shoes". Simple as that. They don't consider it a big deal either way. Now please don't bring up the law suit issues because I could just as easily sue a store for hurting myself barefoot in their parking lot as much as in the store, but the parking lots are not policed and also there are many court precidents that say if you go barefoot you assume that risk. I just think it's more of a movement to gain the personal freedom to wear whatever you want on your feet.
Thanks for the compliment Glen, but I just want to point out a few things. 1. My Dad isn't rich enough to own a winery 2. I'm NOT gay. I'm as straight as the day is long. 3. Guys are supposed to have hairy legs unless you're a swimmer or a body builder...lol 1. I have gotten through two winters w/o owning shoes and it gets cold here 2. There are such things as tetnus shots 3. I don't know what smelly funk you are talking about Only feet which have sweated in shoes all day stink. If you go barefoot for long periods of time, your feet become as dry as your hands. Do your hands stink? Should you put some gloves on?
Someone posted this on another thread. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Why can't we have this type of Freedom in the USA "land of the free" ???
well, see, for me, being a person who just doesn't always wear shoes, being associated with die hard "Barefooters" is kind of embarassing. i wish y'all wouldn't make such a big deal of it.
I know what you mean because I don't want to be associated with those older guys who are so obsessed with their own feet that they take pics of them. You find alot of that on the barefoot forum. I'm just a normal dude who just doesn't happen to like shoes. I only make a "big deal" about it when people try and take that freedom away from me.
your chosen name here begins with barefoot. that alone declares you to be more attached to the issue than i am.
I just chose that as my screen name because it's my nickname in real life. I didn't really choose it. It's just what people at school call me because I never wear shoes.
I wear shoes because I do lots of climbing and moving over sharp dangerous material, so shoes are superior for my uses.
