It's a shame that bare feet are rarely seen on TV. One of the early episodes of Roswell had a really nice scene of Emily Deravin barefoot. She's barefoot in The Hills Have Eyes as well. They even talk about her feet in that movie. Not a pretty movie though.

With respect to The Waltons, the kids were featured barefoot only during the first four seasons. After that no bare feet.

I know this because I had the good fortune of meeting and talking with David Harper years after the show had gone off the air. We met purely by chance at a bar in Abilene, Texas. I recognized him and asked if he was who I thought he was. He acknowledged reluctantly that he was indeed Jim Bob. After I offered to purchase him his beverage of choice a very pleasant conversation followed. As it turns out Jim Bob is a very nice guy and was very forthcoming with memories of the show. He said it was the easiest job he ever had because he went to work every day and just had to play himself. He said he enjoyed being barefoot but that some of the other kid actors complained about it constantly. Most were not use to being barefoot and so their feet were soft. Dave said at first they were barefoot in every episode but as time went on the writers began to give in and not call for them to be barefoot as much. Each successive season they were required to be barefoot less and less. He said he is not aware of any outside pressure for them to wear shoes.

Hi this is my first post, I was watching the waltons the other day and series 2 ep 16 the awakening has a great scene where Mary ellen takes her shoes and socks and wades into the shallow water to kool down then meets a young artist and has her first kiss, really coming of age stuff, some great barefoot scenes in the later episodes too with msry ellen and erin doing exercises in there apartment.

You see a lot of bare feet in horror movies. I guess that's part of the genre.
