this why you go to swimming class and jump in with your shoes, then slosh around all day in school, making puddles too.. :D

I used to do that in gym when I didn't feel like taking my shoes off.
Cuz you know you have to go through all that trouble to put your sneakers on to do the run or whatever then take them off for yoga/pilates and I'd be like I can't take them off. And when they'd ask why not, all I told them was that it was for the benefit of all others :)

It was crazy overreacting, but you can get suspended for ANY dress code violation. I know a guy who got suspended for having bob marley on his shirt. Why? He was promoting drugs.

Feet wouldn't stink if we gave them plenty of fresh air and sunshine. It's not their fault!

Sure, cover them when you must (wood shop, soccer), but our bodies were never intended for clothes and shoes.

So if you went without both, you'd cause a riot, so at least try to get away with going barefoot when you can.

If I remember correctly both socks and sneaks could be run through the washer.

People can and should wash their feet too. All of this helps, but in the hot humid months, keeping feet cooped up in heavy running shoes is going to undo the benefit of all the washing.

If a girl is the dressy type, sandals provide plenty of air. Guys may or may not be approved for sandals in school, but it would help them too.

But, if you're still barefoot in detention it sorta ruins their affect, no? Is there a limit on the number of detentions you can get? Maybe they would tire out first.

I don't go barefoot in school per say, but I only wear socks, and /nobody/ notices. It's brilliant. :D

hmm, to enjoy being fully barefoot, why not paint your bare feet black?

No one would notice that either... and you could always tell people that these are the new super-thin Vibram Five-Fingers!

I personally would not go barefoot at my old high school. The floor was far to dirty for me to consider it. But hey if that is what you want to do then I say go for it.

Are you allowed to wear flops to school? And why do you take them off under desk?

Doubt you'd get an answer from 9 years ago! But if you were wondering flip flops were not allowed in my school

my favorite excuse for not wearing shoes like if a store gives my a hassle is to say I just stepped in a big pile of dog shit and their was just nothing I could do to clean my shoes so I threw them out.

If you want I could retrieve them from the trash can put them on and come walking in here.

Its such horse poo whats wrong with people so concerned if another person had shoes on. Who cares ?

We got this corona virus nightmare and that actually makes sense the controversy what if your infected and got no mask you are endangering the rest of us.

But for decades barefooters never endagered anyone BUT were put on blast almost worse then a person with no mask in a public place like a supermarket.

Its crazy people are nuts, oh no athletes foot (something bare-footers never get) itchy not ever deadly so wear your shoes ! No shoes no service ! Nasty virus kills over 120,000 people and we have mask refusers.

This world is nuts, bunkers, insane

I think when it comes to schooling, you gotta take your losses. I am sending my kids to school once the whole covid situation is over, and I already have shoes for them (hope they won't be too small by the time it is safe). Invest in some good foot-friendly shoes, that is what I did for my kids. They love being barefoot so they'll be barefoot everywhere else except school, which is fine.
