I'd strip down and get in the shower, close the door because our cats would howl and try to jump straight up out of the tub, they hated it and I only ever did it to apply dip that now they have topicals like advantage so figure a healthy cat will clean themselves.

I have never bathed a cat. Weird. They do a fine job of it themselves. Every now and then we do use the kitty wipes though.

It is an absolute fiasco just to bruth my cat's teeth or clip her nails. baths are not going to be an option unless she gets really dirty. She's indoor and cleans herself really well, so it's not a problem. We also brush her every day.

When we'd give our other cats a bath (when I lived with my parents) they were scared, but less scared when bathed in the sink rather than the tub. I think our eldest actually thought we were going to drown him. Don't fill the sink with water. Use the sprayer and warm but not hot water and just speak gently and cuddle them aferward.

we have never had to bath our cat in the 15 years weve had her. ive noticed that overweight cats can have trouble cleaning themselves. so just keep your kitty in shape! :)
really though, i wouldnt bath your cat. if you decide she needs it, like shes greasy or smelly or itchy, then by all means do but its not usually necessary and i think its much better for the cats skin and coat for it to clean itself. also consider that it will ingest shampoo residue when it tries to clean itslef and lick itself dry after a bath. just dont do it unless you notice your cat really needs it.

Depends on the cat. if it was an indoor cat, I would definately bathe it, every 4-6 months, and if it was a longhair, I would bathe it at least 1x a month, whether it was indoor or outdoor. longhair like that is unnatural for a cat and they cannot wash thenmselves properly. our cats are outdoor cats with short hair, and do not get baths.

I used to have a Persian longhair, and he needed bathing about once a month-ish. I have three cats now (all shorthairs), and they do a fine job of cleaning themselves and each other. They do like to go in the bath though, to drink from the cold water tap....

LMAO! Are you kidding? We couldn't keep our female short hair OUT of the TUB!
She'd pitch a bitch if the spout weren't dripping!
Cats VS Water is a MYTH!
They are in fact THE cleanest people I've ever met!
