I hate when I pick up canned beer to take to a friend's house and then they don't have proper beer glasses. I've gotten in the habit of taking my own glass even though it makes me feel hella pretentious lol
Yeah, those people without dedicated beer glasses just don't get it!! *hides the beer I am currently drinking from a mason jar*
I'm ok with any glass in a pinch but I recently had CBS in a plastic (diner style) glass, that was just wrong and a waste of an expensive beer.
Well, you know, I am totally doing it because I knew that. Not because it is the only glass that I own. No, not because of that.
18 months on and I now drink beer out of cans lol. Well one specific beer that I enjoy only so it's the only one I get. When you go camping no bottles allowed so need cans. So I start drinking out of cans. Feels redneck, feels bogan, feels aight to me.
It annoys the hell out of me when you go to a restaurant, order a dessert or cocktail and they try and be trendy and serve it in what is essentially a jam jar / mason jar
Yeah lol, like what's up with that? I've had a milkshake like that. Was okay though because you could see the sides were laced in caramel so I'm all for milkshakes in a jam jar lol.
My favorite local brewery sell most of their beers in cans now. They taste just fine to me. Although I rarely drink one from the can. I have a nice collection of pint glasses . I use mason jars for everything else though. Nice, big , sturdy, and cheap. Also I can put a lid on it and take it with me !
do they actually say no bottles or just no glass? i'm just asking because i know some cheap beers come in aluminum bottles now and i'm wondering if they actually ban those for some reason too.
For the last meet it was strictly no glass at all not even cups. Of course everyone had glass lol, they mostly check your coolers though. They expected wine to be poured into plastic jars. I did hear of people with caravans getting searched and they threw out all their wine glasses and cups etc. I guess because it's a beautiful piece of land and a lot of naturists and nudists visit they don't want people stepping on glass which I totally understand, respect and appreciate. In America they had the aluminium bottles at the sports events. and they tasted piss poor too maybe even worse than a plastic cup. I got a big ass orange Denver Broncos plastic cup is meant for cola but I tipped beer in it. I then used it at home and stupid me put in dishwasher and a lot of the bright orange went missing. So angry at myself for that.
yeah, no glass is a pretty typical rule, and it does make sense. it is a little funny though, at the place i usually camp nearby (which does have the no glass rule) i don't think i've ever spent the night there without smoking out of a glass bowl with at least one park employee. i know a well made bowl is pretty unlikely to break, but it's still funny when "no glass" is posted as often as it is.
I'm drinking a 40oz and I'm so happy. I hate cans. You have to open them all...blah...etc. You need a little damage. You won't notice that kind of damage; everybody knows it. And what is this, Heaven? Okay, let's drink the perfect beer, but then I guarantee you there is going to be an atomic explosion and we're all going to die.
I agree with the Rat. Semi related, I heard from a dude at BevMo that all wines are moving in the direction of twist tops 'cause it's a better seal. I overheard him explaining this to a woman who refused to buy wine that wasn't corked.
