Havnt seen this. And i am pretty close to their brewery. I will be on the lookout. I just had a beer made by the guys from flying dog and the guys from evolution craft brewery. Dont bother looking they only had 2 kegs left.
Meh. It wasn't that good. I wouldn't get it again. The beer's color alone put me off. In fact, I am kind of sick of Dogfish Head. I keep giving them a second chance and I don't know why. Their flagship beers are great, but for the most part they are one of the most overrated and overhyped breweries in the world. Most of their experimental big beers are not that great, and they're super expensive to boot. Plus, Sam Calagione is a douche bag to the max. He's as pretentious as his beers. I think in the future when it comes to DFH, I am going to stick to their 60 and 90 Minute IPAs. Those are their best beers.
This dogfish head indian brown ale is pretty damn good. I'm almost done with the second 6'er I bought, but I'm thinking I need to run to the store and get something else.
the DFH chicory stout is among the best beers i ever had, while the 90 min ipa is the best ipa i ever had, plus i had many other good beers from them. so i might....no no no, i defiantly agree that they are overpriced. particularly their limited beers which are never as good as their regular beers. this may explain why i still love them but havnt purchased one of their beers in a few months. i would like to add that part of the reason is because i havnt seen anything new from them in that time.
I like DFH 60, 90, and 120. And I was gonna comment on having never seen the one Matt posted but then read the comments he wrote about it not being good... so, oh well.. guess I'm not missing much.
Recently bought a six pack of Great Divide Brewery Titan IPA. I like it....a bit sweet, but good nonetheless.
Is anyone else getting sick of IPAs these days? It kind of amazes me how there are so many of these overhyped IPAs and double IPAs, which get such rave reviews, yet the beers are nothing but super bitter, with almost no balance to speak of. I guess it depends on personal taste, but there seems to be too much emphasis in the craft beer world on IPAs and how hoppy a beer can be. I don't get it.
Right there with you, Rat, and I blame the CA craft brew scene. I don't mind IPAs necessarily. What I do mind is brewers trying to make a beer as fucking hoppy as possible, and don't try to balance that hoppy flavor with anything else.. To me, do that is unimaginative and lazy. Any idiot can put a shit load of hops in a beer.
A friend of mine that i grew up with is the brew master there, it's a great place to stop if you're ever in Denver. It's a small operation but they are booming.
i would agree with rat's comments about IPA's but i think that in the beer world imperial stouts are the ones that get overhyped by beer drinkers. look at sites like beeradvocate and ratebeer and imperial stouts dominate the top rated beers. personally i think they are way too strong to enjoy most of the time. although saranac's imperial stout is one of the best beers i ever had.
CA breweries get the rating they deserve. Especially here in SD.....craft beer capital of the US. Great Divide Brewery has a nice selection. Agree that stouts are not tasty. A strong espresso stout in the morning can be good with an omlette.
They get that rating because, well, "hey brah, its cali". Most beers from there aren't bad, but they are boring.
Just gonna point out that i said imperial stouts are overated. I think regular stouts get the ratings they should.
