Red Stripe is kinda expensive (more expensive than some other beers) here, and I don't think you can really get anything for $2, except a 24oz can of colt 45, a 24oz can of steel reserve 211 is $1.75 tho (pretty good value as far as fucked up for the buck goes), but I'd rather get the 40, im pretty sure its cheaper, buying larger quanties always is, as with anything, except in rare cases where it's the same or possibly cheaper but idk @ beer.
The Elysian Oddland Saison was on tap at one of the bars we went to yesterday. I thought it was really good. It had peppercorns and I don't think the flavor is for everybody, but I love pepper and I love saisons.
that is the whole point of the beer snob. it isnt to makw people hate mass produced beers, its just to get people to try beers that they would like.
I'm drinking one of my all-time favorite beers tonight. I haven't had this one in a while, and it reminds me of why I love it so much.
It just looks odd drinking from them glasses. That shit is for wine! You need a boot stein. A one litre boot! Got to drink from the shoe! Every Oktoberfest I end up stealing too many steins and keeping the cute, colourful bier stein tokens. I like the tall .5lt glasses but I always seem to break them. Not like a thick stein, though. I keep at least two in my freezer.
What?? Steins are for German beers, though. A Belgian beer such as this would not really be suited for a stein. I am drinking it out of the type of glass (well as close as I could find to the right type of glass) suited for that style of beer.
I've been back on the hops. Pale ales. It's hot out. Although I did have some delirium the other night with this chick I friend zoned myself with after we were fucking for weeks. Don't ask, long story. But she has good taste in beer.
I did a blind Porter tasting with a few friends the other day. it was pretty nice. It was the day after a big mushroom trip so I was kind of out of it, but it was still very enjoyable. We usually go on brewery tours on saturdays so it looks like next week is a blind Pale Ale tasting or another visit to Hops and Grains or Jester King brewery
yah and their brewery is pretty fucking awesome. The owners are really neat guys too. They answer any question with patience.
