Had a few last night at a bar near me. Both were from local breweries: Coronado Islander, and Ballast Point Dorado.
i drank through all the stuff i got from the last time i left the boondocks but i might break into my bottle of sink the bismark to celebrate the closing of my house.
Cigar city maduro brown ale out of Tampa, really good. And a local intuition IPA, I-10. Been on the brown ale all night so far though.
I am drinking Goose Island 'Summertime', a German-style Kolsch. It's kinda meh, but it's too hot to drink anything fancy.
i was wondering if i should get that, its the only beer within 30 miles of my house that i never had but i can tell by looking at it that its just a watered down ....errrr, that or just a real light beer. with no different or interesting flavors. and being the price of it i would just as well go for something like a dogfish head or heavy seas. i was just thinking of all the beer reviews on youtube, i think i should check some out.
Goose Island makes some extremely good beers. It's just that the one I got was kind of average. Yet I wasn't really looking for anything special. I don't like really heavy beers when it is so warm out. But anyway, it wasn't a bad beer for its style, but not as crisp and flavorful as a real German kolsch.
I had that a few weeks ago. It seemed like a typical dubbel, but it wasn't bad. I have never been a fan of dubbels because of the fact that they are too sweet for my liking. I like tripels more, as they tend to be a bit drier, less sweet and more spicy.
I've made an executive decision to start drinking again, although in relative moderation."Life is for living," as my dear old Grandma used to say.Currently enjoying a nice bottle of red.
