That's just disgusting. I would be horrified if I met you in real life.

i think people are less inhibited overall on the net than in person. i've got like zero experiential evidence to base this on though . . .

I assumed it was pretty well established that behaviour is different on the web. In person people are generally much nicer because they can get punched.

If I actually talked to people in real life I would be just like how I am on here. But I am a hermit and if any one was to meet me I would be too shy to actually talk to them.

    Hello,

IIRC there are studies that you can predict the character trait of a person very well if you analyse the person's on-line existence.

    Hello,

well, English isn't my native language, obviously ;). But people who know how I write in my native language would recognise my postings. The overall style is the same. I would assert that I act the same in real live as I do on-line, but it might take more time for you to discover my personality in real live.

    Regards
    Gyro

thats probably very true. My online existance consists of actively posting in a hippie forum, reading postsecret every sunday, posting videos of my favorite bands on facebook, writing poetry and short stories for a friend's blog, looking at google earth, and reading various stories that pique my interest on NPR. Looking at that, what that says is I'm a voyeuristic hippie that loves music, aspires to be a writer, is infected with a strong case of wanderlust, and enjoys liberal news publications. Thats not very far off the mark of who i am in real life haha.

I’ve always felt vulnerable online because at 6’ 2” 175 I rely heavily on my looks and physical presence which doesn’t come across online.

in real life i'm kind of strange.
as a friend said to me yesterday, from far away you look really normal, and then you talk and it's like freakazoid. i guess that sums me up pretty well.

My virtual persona is a fairly accurate representation of my "real life" persona.
I will admit that I can be about 10% more likely to be an ass online than in person. Not because I'm afraid of getting punched, but because I actively avoid the type of people I give shit to online in "real life". I'm also more likely to give people online the benefit of doubt than in person. Mainly because in person you get the entire package and can determine if they are a complete ass or not and avoid them. :p

I also ramble on about shit in person just as much as online;) My daughters tell me I go on "rectures", ranting lectures:D
