Other than the joke I just posted, that you took so seriously, I have not said anything was a "universal truth" in this thread.
Why would you joke about this? The poor young lad in the OP seems to be suffering quite a lot of anguish about his sexuality and spirituality, a problem caused directly by his pastor's terrible advice He is actually lucky, in many Christian countries homosexuals are tortured and murdered as a matter of course Maybe you should be a bit more careful about your jokes in the future
I understand but that wasn't talking about some Universal truth that I had stated but was about the nature of truth itself. It was in answer to another person that did not seem to be following the conversation and said that it was "my" truth and my answer to him about the nature of truth was; Yes it is "my" truth, if it's true it's everybody's truth.
In what way was I joking about his situation? I did try to make an a point with you, using humor to try and lighten things up a bit but the point being made was totally unrelated to the OP's situation. What countries would that be? I have heard that in some Islamic countries that is true but not in any "Christian" countries that I know of. Please at least try to understand what is being said. I did not and will not joke about the situation the OP is in and do not in the least find it humorous.
In Africa Christians do this as well as Muslims I remember there was a thing on the news about Jamaica a few years ago where homosexuals were being crucified
I found this: 93 nations in the world still legally punish homosexuality. In 7 of these - Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Nigeria, Mauritania - gays and lesbians are punished with the death penalty. This from December 05, 2008. Of the 7 I see none that would be typically considered "Christian".
'do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven' (luke 6:37) am i right?
