    Let me ask this...

Personal cleanliness of one's own feet aside...

How is it that it's ok to walk into a business or what not with shoes on, walking through the same stuff that a barefooter does, but for some reason people think its so much different with no shoes? Doesn't one with shoes have the same stuff on the bottoms, plus much much more, as someone that is barefoot that has washed their soles much more recently than someones shoes?

    Perceptions and societal "norms"...

    fuck off.

I'm starting to get annoyed at these self-righteous tree huggers.

Spouting bullshit about "we have a right to be barefoot", look you don't really have a right to fucking breathe. None of us have any rights!

Being barefoot is gross, get over yourself.

i may regret this....being as you are all a bunch of militant freaks about it but hey

if it is my store then who the fuck are you to say i cant have a dress code including shoes at all times...last time i checked this was a democratic and free society

it never gets to the debate about hygiene or cleanliness or safety or anything like that...its my store and i get tio make the rules for my own store and i dont have to answer to a tiny minority with a big voice..period

    Fair enough.

  6. He's exactly correct. And, as a member of a democratic society, I'll shop elsewhere!

According to dazedgatsby it would appear you do not have rights.

Dude, maybe I'm missing something... did someone say they had a right to walk in your store or anyone elses? I totally don't agree with having "my rights, screw yours" , nor was saying anything about your not having any rights just because you have a public business.
Of course you can choose your customers and terms. What brought that on?
Make your own rules... for sure. It was just an inquiry as to why SOME peoples anti barefoot argument is based on hygiene or cleanliness.

And as for Dazed.. well, kindly fuck off. Jeez, can't find anything more important to get riled up over?
Do you usually go looking for stuff that pisses you off and then spout anger? Whatever makes you feel better man...

holy cow....i havnt been quoted this many times since i told some dreadies their heads smelled icky lol.....y'all must admit there is many ''i went barefoot to [store here] posts on this site...that was the reason for my mini rant

as for dirty feet...ok...you walk all day and what?...you arrive at my house and you use my bathroom to shine up for dinner?....that is comparable to someone washing their shoes in my bathroom...which is not good etiquette

do you bring shoes to my home because you know i am sensitive to this issue

and what about toe sucking...arent your feet a bit on the leathery side?...i cant imagine them being cute and dainty

i can see going barefoot around the house and property but not in public....i couldnt do it...i wont do it:)

    Attention whore :gossip: LOL

Being barefoot is a little gross, like I said. But it's not anybody's business to judge. I wish more people were accepting of the choice, but it really isn't a big deal to just go to another store!

And if nobody has rights, then nobody can tell you what to do! So... take your shoes off if you want. If someone hassles you, leave, go somewhere else.

What I don't understand is what to shoes benefit store owners? I can't see how it would effect them either way. Liability? Because they may step on something? If that was the case then hardhats should be required in stores as well!

You just gotta learn how to take Rolling and a few others on here! I love our resident smart asses, and they know it! They are just making you think, in their own obnoxious way!! But you really should answer the questions, not just agree with me!

The people I dine with accept me. Perhaps it's my social circle being different from yours? Maybe my friends are respectful and honour differences, maybe they're just a bunch of stinky hippies, whatever.
Again I've never had to bring shoes to a party etc. if someone insisted yeah sure I'd wear something. TBH either way it's about the choice shoes/no-shoes so what, isnt that what this should be about?
Toe sucking...ewww WTF, and yeah better off with someone who has not been stomping around fields all day.
.....and nobody here should ask you or insist that you walk barefoot. You're entitled to your opinion, as are others. Your entitled to respect, and so is everyone else. :)

I'm thinking that people use GROSS as a catch-all word when they mean different more than unclean.

I do ask barefooters to wash off the street in my home. Shod folk can simply ditch the shoes.
When I've been out and about bare foot (and I'm far from hardcore, it is usually a convenience factor), I wash off my feet first thing.

Rollin, if washing feet is akin to washing shoes, and I can see that connection, and you find that distasteful in your bathroom, I have to ask.... Where do you wash your shoes?
Or do you not wash them?
