I think he was just an entertainer, a funny one but that's about it. i enjoy his show esp the early stuff.

Wasn't he that fat little man who always got chased in fast-motion? Because that's just stupid, not funny at all.

His program was so funny. I couldn't understand why they took it off.

There are many in the U.K. (myself included) who find it hard to understand the sucsess which B.H. enjoyed in the U.S. There is no doubt that he engendered warmth and fondness in many people but to say that he was a comic genius is really stretching the definition. By the 1980s B.H.s humour was seeming very dated and tired. With so many fresh and new ideas comming to the fore in comedy at that time it is not surprising that there was no longer any real demand for the humour of B.H. in prime time programming. Many other performers of his generation and ilk also fall by the wayside at this time. Society was changing and needed somthing a bit more sophisticated than an old man being chased around by half naked women in double time (just to show how wacky and zany it was, presumably). A lot of people just considered his humour to be too old fashioned and childish to be funny. Certainly not a genius. Sorry.

    I think he's both.
Which makes him funny and that's why we love watching him.
