havent listened to any other album by of montreal other then "satanic panics on the attic", love that album...i shall be getting that one very soon
I fucking hate Oasis so much, and now after hearing how Liam Gallaghar blew smoke into Mick Jaggers face my blood boils at the thought of his cocker spaniel face and dying cat voice. Blech.
hmm, I don't really have enough money to buy that many many albums - but i am a big fan of I Am A Bird Now - Antony and the Johnsons Takk - Sigur Ros Funeral - The Arcade Fire (yeah it was released in 2005 here too) Pegasus - The Phoenix Foundation and (although it's not due till november) I'm going to tentatively put in the second album from Fly My Pretties. Fly My Pretties is basically a group of (the best) Wellingtomn musicians who jam together live on stage for 5 or so nights and record what they come up with. Last year's result was amazing...my fingers are crossed for this year's. And I really want to hear Cripple Crow - got to start saving I guess. However, My number one (for now) is "Based on a True Story" by Fat Freddy's Drop. It's so very good. It won an award for NZ album of the year, very deservedly. They play kind of jazz-infused dub, it's champion. I haven't stopped playing the song "Wandering Eye" since I got the album. It just heralds summer. AND i just found some guy on Radio One in England is nominating it for album of the year too. woot, go Fat Freddy's.
Well the only albums I've really heard from 2005 would be: Rolling Stones - A Bigger Bang Bon Jovi - Have a Nice Day HIM - Dark Light Garbage - Bleed Like Me All 4 which I thought were good albums.
James Blunt - Back to Bedlam. Out of the army and into music this guy is a fine musician. Music, lyrics and a haunting voice, he's well worth a listen.
dying cat voice? you've never heard nico, have you? liam gallagher is one of the greatest singers that's ever fronted a rock 'n' roll band. i doubt you've heard much if any oasis. losers.
Okay, I definitely need to listen to more Devendra Banhart since apparently everyone else likes him =P I only have one Banhart song, which I very much enjoy, "Todo Los Dolores" There's a new Animal Collective CD?! How's if fair against Sung Tongs? Thats the only Collective album I'm familliar with, but I fucking love it. One of the best albums I've heard in a while. Okay, my picks.... In no particular order (alphabetical, but not intentionally) Beck - Guero Black Mountain - *Self Titled* Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock Thats all I can really think of that came out this year that I listen to a lot...
it seems like finally everybody is recognizing devendra banhart, i have been listening to him for so long...he is incredible . I recommend "rejoicing the hands", thats the album that "todo los delores" is on. the new animal collective is good...its very different compared to sung tones though. Sung tones was a more acoustic oriented album, where as feels is more of a electric album. Its probably the most "accesible" album they have released, but its still very good! very different, but very good... thats what i like about animal collective, all their albums are very different
I don't know, I like the older music. However,I'll say Helloween-Keeper of the seven keys-The legacy...that's great..
