Nah man, Cambodia is different. I try not to smoke in most countries in Indochina (as, like you say, it can have VERY serious consequences), but in Cambodia the attitude is completely different. Where Thailand actively condemns and cracks down on white stoned tourists, Cambodia turns a blind eye. Don't forget that weed is part of Khymer culture, and has even been included in their cooking for many many years... It IS technically illegal, but trust me mate, getting caught isn't a problem. There were people walking along the road with joints in their hands. That may not be the case for too much longer though. As Cambodia's tourist industry continues to expand, no doubt the government will come under increasing pressure from fuckwit American DEA devils to stop drug tourism. Enjoy it while it lasts, Cambodia will no doubt go the way of Thailand and its neighbouring countries. Not that it would matter THAT much Cambodia is an amazing place and is full of the most friendly and hardy people i've met in any country. Even without the whole weed aspect, it would still be an amzing place to visit, but lets face it, a few garuanteed cheap and safe joints in the evening is always good to look for when you hit somewhere new!
Hehe, thats Muslim drug policy for you! Personally i wouldn't even consider taking drugs anywhere near ANY airport, but Asian airports scare me silly even though i never have anything on me! I always get paranoid worries that maybe i left some stash in my bag by accident or something.
