Yes, I strongly agree that the Secular world has 'shifted' over to 'the left' and that what you are seeing is a Church which has not shifted ... as much, as fast.
So you wake up one day and cant figure out why those Christians are 'seeming' to be 'more and more behind' so to speak.
I really am convinced that 'liberal christians' as well as antichristians exploit this and use it to play one against the other.
I dont actually think its a 'conspiracy' anymore than any sort of reactions, strategies within the social arenas are exactly 'conspired' about.

Our experience with what was then called 'Fundamentalism' was pretty similar and remember at this time it was a term they flew for themselves.
Of course, it would be great if actually all Christians really did get back to the 'Fundamentals' but these types all seemed to be going on two distinctions:
- Taking the most simple, wooden and literal interpretation of any and all scripture possible. (and sometimes seemingly impossible)
- In a similar way, regressing backwards from Grace to the Maximum amount of Law they could get away with. Talk about 'Fundamentals' they were trying to become OT Law abiders again.. some going as far as ritual ceremony and dress even!

At one point I remember our Fundamentalists were getting bolder and bolder and since they knew they were on their way out they thought it necessary to call just about everyone an 'AntiChrist'.
The logic is so wooden and simple its as simple as taking a verse like 'The body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit' (ok) then finding a smoker in the congregation then stepping to the logic that since smoking is bad for the body .. *therefore* .. The smoker is willfully vandlising Gods Temple and insuting the Holy Spirit.. *therefore*.. since Rejecting the Holy Spirit is the only unforgiveable Sin.. *therefore* .. Old man outside having a smoke is an AntiChrist.

Most of these people (and they dubbed themselves 'fundamentalists') broke off into their own home churches or fell into American denominations - in particular look up William Branham.
I know at the time a lot of them seemed really into Kenneth Copeland.
'Fundamental Schools' came into being and those were a real spooky party if I ever saw one. Like walking into one of those Muslim 'indoctination' schools you hear about..
They ended up having to 'out fundamentalist' each other and somewhere around 1990's they began to morph and split up into the various 'Word Faith' denominations, various 'charismatic' splits absorbed some and to be honest I rarely ever met another real honest-to-goodness Fundie and I never even heard the word being used again until the internet took off big around 2000.
Actually I was surprised and found it remarkable that the very first forums and chatrooms I participated in frequently had already established some sort of monopoly on being non-friendly to Christians who were all deemed 'Fundies'.
Honestly, a new generation was introduced to this and doesnt even know 'why' they are using it other than it seems you call any 'religious people' 'Fundies' and it seems to 'hurt their feelings' and so it took off again.

btw.. The 'Word Faith' people (many who were 'fundamentalists' before) are probably not as interested in the whole idea of standing rock solid for the simplest possible interpretation thing but you visit a WordFaith sort of Charismatic Church and get to know what they have progressed into and I assure you its 100 times more dangerous than when they were romping around just declaring people 'antichrists'.
Much more dangerous.

Just to let u know, two military men from the United States and from two different time periods both have claimed to of seen the Ark up close. Both claimed it was broken in two, and described it in detail. Both of their stories matched. Recent Photographs from space, have confirmed two man made objects high up on Arat. Both objects have a GPS fix on them. I spoke with a member of a group that was to check them out last summer. At the last moment, the Turkish government refused to allow them to go up on the mountain. Just like the find in Saudia Arabia, and Mt. Sinia, another Islamic government will not allow anyone from the West to check out the discovery. One of the men who claimed to of seen the Ark died, but shortly before he passed away he restated that what he saw was the Ark, it was as hard as stone, and it had triple decks. This matched the description given by the other American military officer who is still living. The glacier that hid both sections, is melting. A photographer from National Geographic also stated, that at a base camp where he was doing a story, he discovered that American military personal had removed some objects from the ark, they took him to the side and stated he should not of been where he was, and told him to keep his mouth shut. The finding of these artifacts has something to do with the Islamic belief, and the end of the world. It is believed in some camps, that this is the reason governments are trying to keep a lid on these discoveries.

He even changed the name of the scientists that went with him, because those scientists went back to the site and had it extensively analyzed in 1987, revealing that it is nothing but a rock formation, retracted their earlier claims, and published statements regarding the site when Ron Wyatt persisted with his "discovery." You can look at all the raw findings from these scientists. What you can't do is look at any of the raw data from Ron Wyatt.... he won't release it.

Some Christians have suggested that Noah's ark still rests on top of Mt. Ararat and that its discovery will provide definitive proof of the Genesis Flood. What does the physical evidence say, and what does the Bible say?

First, the Genesis account does not say that the ark came to rest on top of Mt. Ararat. Rather, it says "the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat." The Hebrew word for mountains, has, has a very broad definition, from a 50-foot high hill to Mt. Everest. Thus, the expression "the mountains of Ararat" would encompass more than 100,000 square miles of territory north and east of Ninevah.

Second, the dove that Noah released came back to the ark with an olive leaf. Olive branches would be found on the lower hills of Ararat but not on the high mountains. If the ark came to rest on the foothills of Ararat, we can reasonably conclude that its wood was used up long ago for construction projects in and around Mesopotamia.

It appears the discovery of the Ark has now been determined by most scientists involved to be a fraud and just a geological formation .

Olive branches would be scattered all over the earth after a Global flood. And the dove could of easily found that branch on the only land that was in site which according to the Bible was Ararat.

The Ark according to accounts, and pictures from space, is located near the top of Ararat, which would put it around the 15,000 foot altitude. I don't believe to many workmen would be willing to climb 15,000 feet for some free wood. Also for this kind of work, Oxygen tanks would be required. I don't believe there were many such tanks available at this time.

 

Has there never been an on-foot expedition to verify all of this? 15,000 feet is minor-league in terms of mountain climbing.

 

I spoke with one Christian group last year that was going to go up there. They had GPS fixes on both objects, and were confident they could reach them. Both structures are on the north slope of the mountain. Yet when this well financed group asked Turkey for permission, Turkey refused them entry. For some reason, the Islamic countries will not allow anyone from the West permission to view these sites. They are having the same problem trying to get permission to check out Mount Sinia. Few have made it to this spot. One Turkish man some years back came close and snaped a picture. Those who looked at the photograph stated the object was man made, but they could not determin its size. The climber that took the picture said he could see the structure, but most of it was still covered in ice. He also said it appeared ancient, but could not get any closer because of large cracks in the ice. His American counterpart had to stay on the south slope, and so the Turkish climber did not want to risk trying to cross the ice by himself. As it stands today, both Mount Sinia, and Noahs Ark are waithing to be revealed to the world. Yet, it appears the Islamic nations donot want anyone to see these discoveries. I believe politics, and religion are the biggest road blocks for now. Yet, I think even this will change. Global warming appears to be melting the ice, that has hidden these objects for so long.

 

Well, that doesn't surprise me about an Islamic nation being reluctant...but since they share some common interest in the OT with Christians, it seems that they might be more willing.

 

I have heard in the Islamic belief that the finding of Noahs Ark would signal the end of the world. I don't know if that is true or not. Yet considering all that is going on now days. I could see some governments not wanting to add fuel to the fire. Also, because of the location of both sites, it is believed by some that Islamics don't care to give Israel any more insentives for land claims.
This is just speculation on my part, yet there must be a reason these nations will not allow anyone to investigate. In Turkey, no one is allowed on the North Slope of Mount Ararat, and in Saudia Ariabia, a six foot fence has been placed around Mount Sinia.
