It's easy to ride a bike with no hands, the moment of inertia of the wheels stop you from falling off. Get a wheel and spin it very fast, then holding the axl try to rotate the wheel 90 degree to the direction it's spinning, you'll find it is not very easy.

It becomes easier also if you have bigger wheels, and it also depends on the weight.

I used to have pegs on my bike when I was little and me and my friends would see how many people we could get on one bike. People on the pegs, people on the handle bars people on the seat. I think we got like 7 kids on one bike.

i'm slightly scared of riding a bike. but a friend we hung out with today says he used to go on a bike ride from sf to la with over a thousand people, as a fundraiser for aids. that sounds cool. i would buy a bike and learn to ride it for that. to ride along the coast from sf to la would be amazing. camping along the way.... wow!

I ride a bike almost every day, hardly any cars to worry about, only the occasional lunatic motorbike. I like it because it gives me at least a tiny amount of exercise, it's cheaper than renting a motorbike, and I don't have to buy fuel!

yeah, i just started checking into it. the bike ride isn't until the end of may, 2009. i probably won't do it then, because that's not very long for me to get in shape AND learn how to ride a bike, lol!

but maybe i'll volunteer as a massage therapist to go along and see what it's like. way cool! i love getting involved in things like that. helps you feel connected when you've just moved to a new area. :)

me tooo, say "massages from a naked tree-hugger"

i don't know, maybe i could handle that kind of bike ride. my brother definitely could... when he is not sleeping or climbing trees, he is biking all across a town of nearly 2 million....

well, you can actually volunteer with the bike ride organization to be a "roadie" in many different capacities... one of them is as a massage therapist. i think i'd like to do it that way, because it's verifiable experience for potential jobs and continuing education. :D

and i'll give you a massage stalk, when we all hang out when zilla and dean are in the area.
