not quite the early bikers wore bomber jacket becouse it actually protect them from cold weather and even road rash and became popular right after WW 2 the real mcoys were never cheap!.
If you're actually riding a bike tho, a "real" biker jacket (meant for riding, not just fashion) will protect you much more than a bomber jacket. At least the ones I have had experience with. The bomber jackets are nice if you like that style but the leather just isn't as thick and protective usually. Also when you're on the bike the wind blows hard and the elastic gets all stretched out.
Big reason they go after wearers of fur is the fact that the animal is raised for the sole purpose of killing it for its fur only. At least leather is another product from something we would kill for food anyway.
ok i really wanted to void battles here. a real biker leather would be a set of road racing leather or a 1 piece racing suit . and yes i wore them on the track and on the street " only in our coolest winter days other wise you die in the summer if cought in a city traffic jam"
No matter what I do, I'm NOT selling it. Too many memories, and it comes in handy when I get offered rides on bikes anyway.
