Well the story arc of these modern fairy tales very frequently involves someone with humble beginnings who's rewarded through their virtue and get's a prince/house in Malibu. That sorta creates what I believe al literati like Pavel would call conflict.
well, the ones who didn't in the fairy tales were ariel (she's a fish, after all), jasmine (arab princess) and, forgive me if this seems incorrect, but nala from the lion king as well. pocahontas, too. hmmmmm.
In fact, one could argue that disney in that respect is not interested in race, but is perpetuating the class struggle. Best thing a bitch can do for herself is marry a prince. Death to the bourgeoisie!
Well Ariel while starting out as a princess, had the same desire to leave her world behind her and become someone else. Jasmine on the other hand, was not the protagonist. She was the object of lust for our smooth criminal, who was facing the conflict of the protagonist which move plot forward.
Just what I was going to say. Real world stuff. raise your hand if anybody in this forum is with or married to a nasty old hunchback.
Shoot I'm going to have to go watch all the disney movies so I can speak intelligibly about this topic. where ever will I find the time.
eh, the hairs a little stereotypical (poofy, fro-ish) but, whatever, only noticed it because i was looking for something due ot the post
