Yes safe spaces are offered to black kids in kindergarten away from white kids in some schools now. Because you know... kids are born racist and the racist must be kept away from the black kids.

It's bad enough that publicly funded institutions are segregating students by race and identity. Not to mention students put their grades at risk if their ideas and world views don't match the professor's.

Dangerous spaces are a defiant way to spit in the face of segregation, sheltering, safe space culture.

Is it done nationwide? Well enough college campuses having black and people of color only dorms and student organizations. I think it's necessary to stop this before every education center and public space begins promoting segregation by sugar coating it under the guise of Safe Spaces.

Your position sounds elitist, but I suspect that it isn't. You may just misunderstand what the goal of these organizations is.

I think the purpose of having an organization that is specific to a culture (for this purpose let's say Native Americans) is to promote solidarity. It isn't meant to be an exclusion of anyone. You might even find that these organizations would welcome your support and welcome you to their groups if you were to approach them with a humble motive. So, in this case you might find that Native American culture is a pathway to your roots as an American, and perhaps a more spiritual understanding of nature. So, you see you would be welcome to join!

However, if on the other hand you simply feel generally that Americans are too comfortable in their own skin and that they should be deprived of their precious security blanket, and that you are a vigilante voicing your cause on these forums, I would say that you're certainly misguided.

The Native American example works because it's so widely understood. I don't want to be demeaning, but I think that all of these causes/organizations are pretty easy to figure out in terms of where they're coming from. You might be saying that they (BLM e.g.) have ulterior motives, but I disagree with that.

 

It's just hard for 6 Eyed Shaman and Morphgirl to read anything through the eyeholes in their hoods.

The good thing is it is a private school and subject to free market forces. Parents can always find another private school.

I'm not against introducing role models for minority students or teaching about their culture, but i dont see how segregating students by race will help anything..instead, teach them all together so the white students can learn about and relate better to the black students (and maybe not at such a young age, let them be innocent color blind children for a little longer!)

And dont just stop there, America is an amazing place where everyone has an interesting ancestry. Allow ALL students to learn and share in each other's heritage regardless of race, teach all students to celebrate and appreciate various cultures.

 

What I do not understand is why, private schools - standards set out so this does not happen. Government standards. A lot of people in NYC put their kids in private or a separate school system ... years on a waiting list and I can not fathom my kid at 6 coming home crying because he or she is bad because of the colour of their skin. And he was born racist. Shouldn't they be regulated.? Certain standards upheld. do private schools in the USA get any government funding?

But then when I bring up cops shooting unarmed black people you start talking about how they deserved it because of what they did before they were shot. I pointed out that you have bought into a lie started by a racist and you replied "I don't read racist shit" then followed it up with a scathing misinterpretation of Black Lives Matter's website that you deemed "Racist". Do you read racist shit or not?

When I asked you did you look up who first used the hashtag BLM Kidnapping. You responded that you don't need to know that because you were sure that there was a connection to Black Lives Matter.

When I asked you what made you jump to the conclusion that these kids were in any way inspired by Black Lives Matter you dodged the question because I was "Mean to you". Then started a line of bullshit that I've heard from old white men in bars in the middle of nowhere about things in the black community since I've been able to work in bars.

You've made comments like "Look at who does all of the drive by shootings", "Most Black Lives Matter supporters advocate violence" etc.
