Ok, here is a couple I didnt mention in my first post.

    Buddy Guy
    Junior Wells

Eric Clapton once said that Buddy Guy was the best guitar player alive. I dont know if I would go that far, but he is damn good. And Junior wails on the harp. These two played together for many years, and really developed a chemistry between them. Want to hear what I am sayin? Go to this link. You will have to register, but it is free, and in doing so, you will be able to listen to all the King Biscuit Flower Hour programs and all of Bill Graham's recordings and so much more, all for free. You will even get a weekly newsletter of old concerts just released. They are releasing an average of 20-40 per week.

Sorry, but I am not familiar enough with their music. Know the names, but not educated enough in their tunes to make a statement.

He's definitely on my short list, along with Jimi Hendrix and Susan Tedeschi.

As a rocker I always liked some blues so recently downloaded a LOAD of the early delta Blues musicians, from Charlie Patton onwards. As expected, I love it. I have not found 1 musician yet that I dont like. my favourites are Muddy Waters ( The Electric Mud album is EXCELLENT )and John Lee Hooker.

At the same time I am on a quest to find the first rocker(s). As rock came from the electric Blues I would hereby like to nominate John Lee Hooker as the first rocker. While he is mainly a bluesman, he has a number of songs which fairly rockin. Take "Boogie Chillen, for example, which came out in 1948 , years even before rock n roll.
