i don't shave my crotch or legs, but i gave into shaving my underarms a couple of days ago because i was sick of the sight of them! the hairs were getting quite thick and i decided to get rid of them.
that said, i would never cut down the trees in my lady garden. :H

I'm a big fan of girls with hairy armpits - so cool. In fact, girls with hair everywhere except the face and breasts is really sexy!

I totally agree the above 2 comments- shame there aren't many unshaved women around these days. We need a hairy revolution!

I think stereotypical beauty standards, are a bit overly rated, and that people freak out a bit too much about body hair, while I find a lot of peoples views here interesting, I prefer being smooth myself. Body hair feels too scratchy for my comfort personnally.

i wonder if this has anything to do with this topic, but i didnt want to make a new one. My girlfriend shaves down there, and i want her to grow it out for me, at least once to try. She cant stand the thought. Is there any way i can convince her to try it?

    thanx for the help

Hmm... I'm not an expert on this, and a very inexperiened 17 year old so forgive me, but I'll try and offer what I can.

Does she think having any 'hair' there, would all of a sudden make her 'unwomanly'? If that'd be the case I'd just try to reassure her of stereotypes. Otherwise if the thought just disturbs her. Maybe offer to do something for her, she'd want you to do, and plan that, in turn for her growing it out?... And how much does it need to be grown out? Maybe she could just go without a week, and in turn you do something she wants? Sorry if this isn't a very knowledgable post.

its cool, im also 17, and thanks for the advice. i think its not that it makes her deel "unwomanly" because we both know she is one hell of a woman.

she told me that she feels "insecure" about growing it out. she also says that she doesnt like a bush (im on the phone with her now lol)

she cant give me a straight answer. shes being such a chick...i told her EXACTLY why i dont shave...hell, i even tried it for her....

    ahh, women...the ultimate puzzle....

Fair enough England if you don't like the hairy thing- we all like different things to float our boat; but why disgusting? It's toally normal + natural to have this hair- it's a rather sad that you find a woman's natural state so abhorent.

Ok you asked so I'll answer. By not shaving it is considered as unsightly and unhygienic. I mean if I saw a woman's pubes or underarm hair hanging out of her shorts I'd be disgusted. It's also unfeminine. I prefer the shaved, tidy, clean and discipline look of the ladies, not the sort of lady that just's lets herself go.

You may not like my response but I gave my opinion on hairy women as you asked.

"Unsightly and unhygienic" just when it's a woman, or does that apply to men too? It's reasonable to ask, because men typically have more body hair than women do, so I'd have thought if these things are important, men would be the first to worry.

Well, I'm glad I'm a hippie who doesn't care about any of this nonsense! But I find it hard to understand why there are so many people who reject the natural human body and make themselves slaves to social conformity (not to mention doing what Mommy/Mummy says), and then feel the urge to come here and tell the hippies all about it. Why not write to Cosmopolitan magazine instead? They'd love to hear it.

Ok, if her underarm hair is hanging out of her shorts, I suppose that would be a little odd. HOWEVER. Body hair is not at all unfeminine. In fact, they're born with it. That body hair holds many female pheremones that are much less without hair. Just because you have lived with pictures of hairless women all your life doesn't make it unacceptable for women to have some actual pride in their natural look and state of being.

You may dislike body hair as much as you want, but coming on here and saying "ew that's disgusting" doesn't help anyone with anything.

I accept the fact you find body hair on women unattractive- it's not surprising because that's the prevalent attitude due to decades of social conditioning; I have always preferred women in their natural furry state!

But unhygienic? If you really think that is true, then I sincerely hope you remove your body hair, as it would be unhygienic on you as much as any woman! Provided a person bathes regularly there is no need for hair to be a problem. I've heard many women on here + on other forums say that their pits smelled more when they shaved than when the hair was grown out.

    aeshna, you are so correct!

It is disturbing to to realize how much modern culture & social conditioning has totally distorted the definitions of what is natural, feminine, or clean.

All of theses excuses, clean, feminine, hygenic, etc.... are effects of culture and conditioning.

i saw another woman (about mid-twenties) at a vegan festival i was at, with quite long, dark, thick, underarm hair and i realized in a second why so many of you men think its so appealing! in fact, it was very very sexy indeed.

Leg and underarm hair never did much for me either way, but a healthy patch of pubes always turns me on. Well-washed, it's makes for a great tactile experience. You can run your fingers through it, or hold your cheek against it.

Its presence testifies to a woman's self-confidence. Far from guarding or concealing the pubic region, hair somehow makes it appear more vulnerable, more naked. To let it grow, a woman must be very comfortable with herself; to let you see it, she must be very comfortable with you.
