My brother used to have a coloured bong and it was so sweet. All clear tubes look so fuckin wierd to me. there all so plain! Everybodys like "Yo man! i hit this crazy lookin RooR, it had a perk and everything!" the simple truth is that coloured glass is just more interesting than clear. Lemme axe you a question, do you like clear or coloured bowls? the principal there is pretty similar and i would assume that most of you would say coloured, right?
I don't like the mass produced bongs like Roors. I'm sure they hit great and all (I've never actually used one), but I prefer the less sterile looking glass of normal (and exponentially less expensive) bongs.
I just bought a clear bong today... Thick glass and a wonderfull shape its the best 25 dollars i have ever spent... Its literally a very good deal IMO, as its pretty big also
I fucking love bong tokes, gota be out of a nice glass bong so you can see how much smoke you have built up, ect. I like to take it to the next level with my bong and add a blunt sometimes instead of a bowl, it's fucking dank. "I love rippin' outta bongs it gets me so so high When I take a big toke 'looks like my eyes start to cry Tears start to swell up when I take a huge hit Of that bong biggie bong diggity dank dank shit" - kmk
Different things for different people. I just had an issue with you saying that all roors are mass produced.
main issue here is a spoon or any other pipe can have quality color work and not be too expensive if your talking about a fully worked bong of any decent size (over a foot) your looking at paying at least 400 bucks, probably more. and color and color work are two totally separate things. fuming, random squiggly lines, or colored tubing are not anything special, and I don't see how anyone could consider this art. real color work and art is inside out reversals wigwags windows marbles etc. and when you care about a big, smooth, tasty hit more than some random junk color then those clear tubes won't look so odd what makes it so hard to clean? just pour in some iso and salt, shake the shit out of it, and it should be clean like drew said all roors are hand made. all of those less expensive colored bongs your talking about are, in all reality, probably way way way more mass produced than roors are. and a very large portion of them aren't even bongs at all, they are soft glass vases drilled out with a stem in them. they are horrible quality glass, and are made by machines in a lot of cases. and what are these normal and less expensive bongs? vases? an 18" basic roor sells for about 230-250 in 5mm. the forest green label roors are 3.5mm or around there, and are about $130 for an 18" most 18" 5mm thick quality tubes are not that much cheaper than roors. you probably don't know, but before the gov. cracked down on bongs there were many brands that openly advertised and sold colored grommet bongs. JBDs Congs Zongs the list goes on. they were not that much cheaper than roors. people need to realize what quality means, as i don't think most do. a converted vase or a sloppy ass boro tube are cheap because they are garbage. if you wanna play you gotta pay i think ive posted this picture before here, again its not mine just got it off google, but every single bong in this picture (except for like 2 of them) is not a bong, just a vase that has been converted to a bong. if you are buying something like this thinking its art, or a quality bong, your wrong and getting ripped off. not saying theres anything wrong with buying these, just saying cheap janky glass bongs cann't be compared to a quality blown tube.
Personally I'd rather smoke from a converted vase, and use the money I saved to buy weed. A bong is an extremely simple contraption, why people feel compelled to spend hundreds of dollars on a single piece is beyond me.
im sure they do to some people, which is why folks buy them for 30-40 bucks thinking they are getting a great deal on a badass bong when in fact they are getting a soft glass vase that you could buy for 10 bucks with a 5 dollar stem in it if a roor's a benz those kind of bongs are a skateboard
well why not just make some bong from a pop bottle and use that quality is the reason first of all glass on glass is a superior design in pretty much every way. the guage of the stems is larger than on grommet bongs, the seal is 100% perfect if quality joints are used. you can dry carb, which gives a better hit if you are a weed fiend that just wants to cop a buzz thats fine, but if you are a connoisseur of all things bud related your going to want to get a piece that is high quality is gives a great hit. let me ask you this, who the hell drinks an 18yr scotch from a dixie cup? probably not a lot of people. who lights a high-dollar cigar with a bic lighter? why buy a S-class or a 7-series when you can buy a 3 banger geo. its about quality and features. fly down the freeway in comfort at 130mph or hobble down the sidestreets with a bumpy ass ride with uncomfortable seats. just because you can't afford quality doesn't mean the money isn't worth it to those that can how bout spending 1,000 on a bong and still having ounces of bud kief and oil around to smoke?
That's great for people who can afford that life style. As a broke ass college student, I will be content with my converted vase and get just as baked,
no problem with that, but im sure if you tried, a quality bong would not be out of your reach if you have money for weed you have extra money. no idea how much you smoke, but if you do smoke a lot im sure a slight reduction in your smoking would allow you to save for something nice in a rather short period of time not telling you that you should do this, im just saying that you dont have to be rich to have nice glass AND smoke nice bud. only reason im saying this is because of the "i can't understand why someone would spend so much money on glass" many people ive talked/hung out with shit talk nice glass simply because they dont think they can afford it so they have to convince themselves there is no reason to aspire to owning such pieces. ive never had anybody shit talk roors after giving them a hoot out of one of mine your in college now, and many people on this site are young teenagers. obviously at this point in life most people don't have the funds to put into a nice glass collection or whatever else. but when your on your own, employed, with a decent income buying nice glass is no more out of reach than buying a tv, car, speakers, nice clothes, shoes, etc. its all in your priorities. im sure many people around here wouldn't believe it, but there is a huge paradigm shift from when your a 16 year old who's income consists of parents money, birthday/christmas money, and possibly a low paying part time job, to when your making a decent living as an adult. just because something doesn't seem appealing now doesn't mean you won't want something nicer when you can afford it
