To Kill a Mockingbird...read it before it was an assignment, LOVED it
The Crucible...I just mostly liked it because I was in the advanced English class and we had some fun projects every book we read
The Scarlet Letter...Didn't hate it
Great Expectations...fucking HATED it
Wuthering Heights...see above
The Great Gatsby...sucked except when people died

In my senior English class, there were only 4 of us and we spent most of our time attempting to distract the teacher. By second semester we had successfully turned that class from advanced placement English IV to kindergarten arts and crafts. Score.

 

Prolific writers Stephen King and Dean Koontz were often a distraction when trying to finish a reading assignment, because I was always so thoroughly engaged in one or more of their novels
