following your line of reasoning, tell me how you separate hitler the artist from hitler the fuhrer?

Hitler the artist was lousey at what he did.
Hitler the fuhrer was good at what he did.

But I think that seperating those two wasn't what was suggested. Seperating Hitler from the pictures he painted was what was suggested.

Do Bach's feelings about the Jews change the way we listen to the Brandenburg? Does Ty Cobb's racism lower his batting average? Does Oscar Wilde's homosexuality change how important it is to be earnest?

That is completely different reasoning. Where does he mention people with the same name? He's talking about artists who remain famous despite having a few dirty facts about themselves.
Plus i dont think you're seeing the whole picture. I'm not trying to excuse his behavior, but they were interupting him and heckling him. Plus did you happen to catch his live apology on David Letterman?

Do we not allow some forgiveness when there's so much worse going on in the world?

Does anyone see a similarity between a this kind of boycott and the religious right boycotting Disney movies because they don't like Disney's employment policies?

personally, I'm boycotting non-violent resistance, peace, and humanitarianism, because Gandhi was also racist toward blacks.

from what i saw of the incedent, it looked as tho he was going through a severe mental break down, and the heckler was the straw that broke the kramer's back.
he was wrong for what he did, im not arguing that. but a lot of people do wrong things. thats what is beutiful about apologies. it doesnt make them any less wrong, it simply gives them another chance.
to 'punish' him would be just as hateful as his words. he is a human like us, and like us makes mistakes.
though his racist comments were horrendeous, and ill admit i was on the 'i hate richards' tirade for weeks, he did apologize, and because i am a creature of love, and still hold the feeble belief that there is still a goodness in man, i will forgive him.

How do you know for a fact that he wasn't drinking ?. Drinking just gives you the balls to say it, its still how you feel when sober.

While what he said was totally unacceptable, boycotting Seinfeld is just stupid. The show is great and character of Kramer is arguably the best in the show. Boycott Michael Richards.

Drinking doesn't give you balls, it takes away your good sense.

My question is, why is it only a big deal when a white person does it? What about all of the black people who base their entire career on racism and making fun of white people? Or what about people like Carlos mencia who's entire show and every joke is racist? Im personally not a racist, but you need to give equal treatment to ALL racists, not just the white ones because by definition, THAT would be racist.
