That would be my opinion as well. Oh no now there are more CIA plants here. Sorry we all can't just follow along with everything stated here. Oh and I like the USA to. because we were discussing Israel. I don't think it should be. I don't like when religion is a defining factor in a democracy. I am by far not stating the Israel is perfect. Just pointing out that Israel has many Muslims living and working there and that in general they have more rights then Muslims in Muslim lead countries.
I've yet to see evidence that US media is against Israel. And I am a little tired of any critisim of their militant ways as being seen as anti-semitism. Why not leave religion out of it totally and view them as the "democratic" nation you paint them and judge them on their human rights history.
If you want to boycott countries in the sake of peace then boycott terrorist nations like Iran and Lebanon! How can a democratic nation live in peace while under constant terrorist attacks by fanatical fundamentalist groups? I have absolutely no sympathy toward Lebanon and other terrorist nations. These extremist, hate mongering fanatics are a cancer on the civilized world and the only way to cure cancer is to cut it off!!! You’ve all witnessed how crazy and dangerous these people get over a little cartoon. I have zero tolerance for religious nonsense. If a terrorist nation can’t control its own people then it should be shunned by the civilized world. Israel is an island of democratic civilization in a sea of extremist insanity that wants to infect the world with its madness, inhumanity and oppression.
by what rule of economics could a boycot of goods from a third rate economy like israel hurt the USA?
Your point does not undermine my argument, in fact it skirts sloppily around the outside. I'm talking about the 'right of return'. At least get clued up on that before giving out information that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. As for Pakistan, I'm referencing another state set up as a homeland for a particular religion/ethnic group. My point is to display moral consistency on issues such as this.
I don't see what good it will do to boycott goods from Israel. I think the only manufactured item I have my house is a tool rack. The problem I see with Israel is that they are essentially culturally a modern European nation but is geographically located outside Europe and surrounded countries that are culturally still in the Middle Ages. To give an example Israel participates in the Eurovision Song Contest. Could you imagine any of Israel's neighbours doing so?
I say we all boycot oil. Just use less. Mow your lawns with a push mower, and don't use gas powered leaf blowers or edgers. Use a rake instead. Sell that gas guzzling boat, snowmobile, jet ski, and try canooing, skiing, and swimming.
Originally Bahrat Mata(Mother India) or British India, whatever you want to call it consisted of modern day India, Pakistan & Bangladesh. There was considerable amounts of Hindus in what is now Pakistan & Bangladesh and far more Muslims in what is now India, but it was split up as there were muslim majorities in certain areas namely Pakistan & Bangladesh (previously part of Pakistan known as East Pakistan until 71 and the British felt that the Muslims might be unfarily treated as a minority in India. That in fact was a load of bollocks made up by the British to avoid having such a large country left behind and it also caused the Kashmir problem. The split caused the upheaveal of millions of people. Today there is practically no Hindus left in Pakistan although there was lot pre-1947 but they left at partition. The Indus river in Pakistan is one of the holy hindu rivers. I think Bangladesh has a 10% Hindu population but also this was probably higher before 1947. Also lots of Muslims moved to Pakistan and Bangladesh during Partition, though Muslims still make up 14% of the Indian population. Interestingly India is the country with the second highest amount of Muslims on the planet, after Indonesia. It's amazing in India itself how so many religions live side by side in relative peace although the Kashmir issue has always been contentious. The recent upsurge in Islamic fundamentalism caused by the policies of the US & the UK has affected India aswell.
Well I'd say that any country that has an immigration policy that is based on ones religion is fairly middle ages. Afaik Turkey are in the Eurovision. Also Israel have to play in the European groups in football aswell because they can't play in the asian qualifiers as most of the other countries refuse to play them as they don't recognise them. But what makes them European? They speak Hebrew which like Arabic comes from Aramaic, they are a semitic race as are the Arabs. I know they have a much more western mind set than their Arab neighbours but they have far more in common with them than one would believe.
well, even a boycott of israel couldnt do much, possibly because of the millions of dollars the US pumps into there(go fiqure) every year. We could boycott saudi arabia, but then they would pull out their trillion dollar investments in our econmy(any favor another great depression?) the point is, we really cant do much to stop any killing. Religion is always the best excuse for murder. the arab world is pissed because the western goverments basicly annexed a part of the middle east for israel after WW 2, so, unless anyone favors dropping a nuclear weapon there(joke, dont send me hate mail) there is isnt much we can do.
