Food World wasn't this strict. I heard a few stories of coworkers dating, 1 couple even ended up married and now their kid works at Food World. Haha. But Winn Dixie has to do everything by the book.

The corporate headquarters for winn-dixie is in jacksonville, florida.
If you aren't slacking off at work because of your boyfriend, and they fire you based on what you do outside of work.. I would go straight to them mentioning a lawsuit.
See how quick they hire you back.
When you filled out the hiring paperwork, did you sign a form agreeing to the company guidelines? Probably so, but I would still get my attorney to freak them out.
In fact, I have a good friend there who's a pretty high profile attorney.
PM me if you get fired. :)

    Tis Very Sad..:(

When A Big Corporation Presents Itself As An Obsticle In The "Path Of Love".

Tis Hard Enough As It Is, To Find Love In This Mad..Mad World..

Without Some Cold Heartless Corporate Identity Screwing Things Up For You.

    Good Luck..

And Best Wishes For A Long And Loving Relationship.:)

    Cheers Glen.

You could talk to your boyfriend and maybe agree to tell casually those people who know that you have broken up. And if your relationship doesn't interefere in any way with your work it really shouldn't be a problem.

It is easier to ask for forgiveness, than permission

Or they could fire BOTH of you. At least if you are honest, one of you will get to keep their job. Times are hard, do you really want to both be out of work?

I'd be up front about it before they find out.

Are you and your boyfriend on the same level, organization-wise? I mean, you're not his boss or anything, right? If there's no possibility of favoritism in promotions, pay raises, etc, then you could probably challenge them in court if they fired you.

I seriously doubt they would fire you, though. How long have you worked there? Is your work record good? If you're otherwise a good employee and you've been there a while, they'd be stupid to fire you. And anyway, most corporate policies are to give warnings for stuff like this. It's not like you've been embezzling them.

You're right, it is hard to find love. Good men are hard to come by. I've got one and I intend to keep him.

    THIS
I worked for WD for YEARS- YEARS and years of time wasted stocking shelves, surrounded by 16 yr olds.
They cannot fire you for dating your coworkers. All of my coworkers were effing dating.
They COULD transfer you if you were dating your boss ... or he his.
OR if you made a scene ,if it affected your job.
Otherwise, I knew MANY MANY MANY who dated- many bossed ,managers, and supervisors who were aware- hell ,
even dating or MARRIED themselves to coworkers.
At worst, I knew people who got transferred to different depts than the person they were dating.

In fact... there was a wedding INSIDE of the St.Augustine STORE I worked at, of a manager and another W/D employee(she worked in a different depts tho) who had MET at W/D!

Seriously, Go tell your supervisors- before the rumor spreads and get twisted and they hear about it in a bad way, or something.:cheers2:

    No worries :)
She's a busy woman, but I'm sure I could coax her into drafting a letter.
