We were trying to remember the other night what actually the news used to be about. Like, before 2016.

Sorry but this is going to go on for a generation at least – and I’m not even being funny

    Let’s look at it

Whatever happens from now on we will be getting the blame game – I mean whatever happens it’s not going to go well

So the Leavers are going to blame everything that’s not going well on the EU or those traitorous remoaners

While the Remainers are going to point the finger and say ‘I told you so’

As I keep telling people – this bit was supposed to be the easy, it was JUST the withdrawal agreement - the really difficult bit was the trade talks that come after and as many have pointed out trade talks can go on for years, and those talks have to happen if we have no deal or do get a deal.

No deal is going to be bad, very bad, so leaving with no deal is going to give a lot of opportunity for ‘I told you so’s’ or shaking a fist at the EU for not giving ‘us’ a ‘good’ deal.

And the slow decline of a Deal leave will still mean a lot of opportunities for ‘I told you so’s’ and for shaking a fists at the EU for thwarting England’s road to triumph.

If we have a second referendum then…..well imagine

And if a second referendum says stay do you think the leavers are just going to go away? Everything that goes wrong is going to have them saying ‘if we had left that wouldn’t have happened’

This particular Pandora’s Box has not just been opened it has had the fucking lid ripped off.

In my post above I said this will be a generational thing as one generation fades and another with differing ideas take over.

For example the Demographic changes mean number the of Remain supporters grows by around 235,000 each year, while those supporting Leave backers falls by 260,000

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-yougov-second-referendum-peter-a8541971.html

Just over 70% of 18 to 24-year-olds who voted in the referendum backed Remain, four major academic and commercial polls conducted shortly after the ballot agree, with just under 30% backing Leave.

In contrast, only 40% of those aged 65 and over supported Remain, while 60% placed their cross against Leave.

How young and old would vote on Brexit now

I’ve met a few younger people that are angry because they believe their future working lives have been blighted by those whose working lives have or are coming to an end.

It was a jar, was never a box, just got mistranslated. You could lift the lid off a jar vigorously, but you couldnt rip it off

My son who is 19 has said that all along . He would vote to remain but wasn't eligible to vote at the time in 2016. He would now welcome the chance to vote as he sees the future being better as part of Europe. That's probably the main reason why I would welcome a second referendum to allow new voters like him a chance to have a say on the future of the country .

Sad but not surprising that the leavers don't seem to have anything of substance to offer to any of these discussions.

If that was the case then at least it would settle it.

I do not want a second referendum.
    PLEASE, NO.
I wouldn't even want to remain, because of exactly what Balbus said - everything that goes wrong will then be blamed on not leaving.
We voted out. We should be out. I want to see what happens.

If VG is correct then it shouldn't be a problem . Its just 3 years is a long time and those that were not eligible at the time can be given a chance of their say.

This is not election we can have every few years

I say lets stop the process the leavers work out a detailed costed and peer reviewed platform and we have a vote on that or remain.
