    Booze

But you don’t seem to have a clue what that means

Can you please address the outstanding criticisms of that viewpoint? Thing is that we do make our own laws and govern ourselves and you seem unable to cite one case where this sn’t the case or of a law that you are against.

    Why not

Again I’ve asked but you don’t seem able to explain what you mean by this or back it up in any way.

Which seems due to neoliberal policies such as ‘austerity’ than migration

    Definitely due to neoliberal policies

    What?

As for paying for EU membership well to repeat

I believe it cost somewhere close to 9 billion

But let’s put that in context - we spend:

    145 billion on health

    45 billion on defence

    29 billion on transport

And 13 billion on overseas aid

We also contribute less (per head of population) than some other EU countries such as Germany.

For the 9 billion we get all the advantages of free trade with the EU members and with the EU trade deals with none EU countries along with a say in the regulations and policies set by the EU (unlike say Norway).

Some have put a figure of roughly £31bn-£92bn per year as the best estimate we have in terms of the additional value created to the UK economy through trade as a result of EU membership.

    So I went looking -

At first glance, these figures might seem quite high, particularly if we look at the commission. But for an administrative staff covering institutions serving over 500m people it’s a shoestring operation, especially when we compare it to civil services operating at the national, or even local levels. Compare this, for example, to the 33,477 people employed by Birmingham City Council, covering a population of 1.1m in 2015-16.

    https://theconversation.com/how-many-people-work-for-the-eu-59702

On 31 March 2017, there were 332,800 Civil Service employees in England, 43,220 in Scotland, 32,440 in Wales and 3,760 in Northern Ireland.

    UK population c60 million

    412,220 civil servants

    EU population c500 million

    46,356 civil servants

    Booze

Please go back and look at your posts there is a lot of sound and fury but little or nothing of substance and when your views are questioned or criticised you run away.

Strange isn’t it that I’m happy to go into detail on any of this do the study make the connections look up the information but you are unwilling or unable to do any of that.

If you were going to buy a car and one person has the MOT, the log book and can answer all your questions about it and another seller has none of the paperwork and refuses to answer any of your questions about the car – which car would you most likely buy?

I am not sure if you are taking the piss there Bulby, but
    Like I already said Bulby.
I have in essence been saying since posting in Brexit or Brexit Party threads.
    Problem is.
Remainers have been in denial of my honest opinion, and have been looking in the woods, but have not seen any trees.

For reasons given, bring on No Deal as far as I am concerned.
The United Kingdom was doing just fine before we joined that expensive rip off bureaucratic cabal now known as the EU.
Perhaps if things had stayed as a Common Market as originally envisaged, it just might have worked.
But not now as the EU is just a melting pot of shite.

    Cheers.

    No.
I am not going to get into useless time consuming debate with you Bulby.
I have already worn the t shirt and the hat with you and others on that.
    My opinion is as given.
    End of.

    Cheers.

One of the chief reasons I voted OUT was to ensure that evil racist scumbag Farridge received his P.45 from the Euro Parliament and therefore can no longer wallow with his snout in the trough.

Thing is that Booze knows he hasn’t a reasonable or rational argument that is why he has to run away or it quickly becomes clear his ideas are bollocks

    Sad but true

So can any leaver come up with any rational reasons...well so far no...not one

You realize if you didn't rejoin the discussion with this post first:

It would be far easier to treat you as a normal convo partner?

I applaud your summary of arguments in the following post. But just cut the crap: you are the one who provokes and try to trigger with insults and empty nonsensical remarks. Balbus with actual on topic arguments. Most criticism directed to you is spot on.

Listening to government pundits the argument been presented seems to be twofold and contradictory – on the surface it is about blaming the EU for about everything that has happened or will happen but beneath that it’s clearly a desperate plea to the EU to save Britain from its foolishness

They are begging the EU to break international laws and its core principles to save the UK from the crap it has caused, please don’t check our lorries, please don’t impose tariffs, please don’t disrupt our trade

But at the same time defaming the EU for the mess we caused and claiming if they don’t do the things that we will desperately need to save ourselves from ourselves they are evil incarnate

It’s like watching a drunk abusive ex-husband on the phone to his old wife and going from ‘please love me’ to ‘bitch queen’ and back again ever few minutes.

I’ve not posted here recently because tears of rage and saddness well up whenever I think of the harm the leavers are doing to the country I love.

It has become clear that those that are pushing for a hard Brexit are either delusional or chancers and neither can actually defend the madness.

Even many of the delusional have realized that crashing out of the EU will do great harm to the UK (some even admit it already has caused harm) but they still delusionally believe that it is still good for the country even if they find it impossible to say how or why.

It really is a matter of them wanting to burn the village to save the village.

Then you get, chancers like Boris Johnson that know fully well that all forms of Brexit are a bad thing for the UK, but don’t care if they get to play at been Prime Minister.

It reminds me of something supposedly said by Julius Caesar ‘I rather be the first man in a hovel than second man in Rome’ but in this case it just seems Boris is just going to make his own hovel out of Britain.

This whole process has shown up what many including myself have argued for a long time – that Britain’s (mostly the English) political system isn’t fit for purpose in that wealth especially in the shape of the right wing media have far too much power.

OK the keyboard is sparking from the falling tears so I’ll stop for the moment

Fully concur matey, which is why I've been advocating for many years, (i) The abolition of the HoL entirely, to be replaced with a directly elected second chamber, (ii) the abolition of the Monarchy to be replaced with a directly elected President, (iii) The change of the electoral system to encompass STV as the preferred method of election to pparliament and all local elections.

LOL oh Booze you can always cheer me up

You do know that you are one of the delusional.

In ever encounter here you have been unable to defend leaving the EU but have hilariously reveal just how ill-informed and racist you are - if anything you are walking talking breathing billboard for what has gone wrong with this country.

I tell you that if loving my country and wanting what’s best for it is been a snowflake then I’m proud to be one.

But what do you call someone like yourself who wants to hurt the UK and cause many of its people pain all because you are too lazy to become informed?

    Yes I know Driftrue.
My 'problem' if it ever was a 'problem' is this.
I am a person who has always called a spade a spade, and am not one for beating around the bush trying to find a spider.

    Anyway.
If you read back, Bulby has said some pretty nasty and upsetting things to me in the past.
    And.
If one can't stand the heat.
Then please just fuck off out of the kitchen.

    Cheers.
