Of course, it has been about two years since I have seen it, but, yes, I do remember many aspects of the production being handled in a way where it could've been more effective.

The acting, for the most part, was average. Nick Stahl, however, was a standout. His Bobby was one of the most convincing antagonists in all of the films I have seen. Michael Pitt in an earlier role was the other standout, before he moved on to Dawson's Creek and The Dreamers; I remember him because, though I hated Bobby, for some reason, I downright loathed Pitt's character; his childishness got to me and I cannot understand why (because the character was so convincing or the acting was so bad? I'm not sure.) Since Bully, he has proved himself worthy an actor in The Dreamers so I can only assume these "childish ways" in Bully were orchastrated by himself as an actor.

I see this not as a "film" in the classical sense but a documentary filmed with actors. An exploitation piece, if you will.

Forgive me if I made things difficult or more complicated than they needs be; does anyone agree with me here?

most definately. I don't know if you have seen this film, but it is impossible to appreciate it for it's face value. It may be safe to say that there is not a single thing in Eraserhead (except maybe Henry, the main character) that does not symbolize something else. This is meant to be picked apart and analyzed.

I do not put Bully in the same category as Eraserhead of course, I am not suggesting that this film requires as much analysis nor does it contain the symbolism that Eraserhead does. Although, I do think that it is meant to inspire thought. The biggest complaint about this film seems to be that the other kids are too passive about the idea of killing someone, but that to me is one of the things that makes it so realistic. I know that I personally would not be so excited to go out and kill someone, but this is a comment on the desinsitized youth that DO commit crimes like these, and the thousands of other youths who would not need much convincing to commit one.
