Yup. Drugs stores or healthfood shops. Gods I love the smell of tea-tree. I occasionally use lemmon-grass oil as well.
tea tree is amaze! i use it to clean my ear piercings, and on spots, and bites, andandand when hair washing. soooo good
Officially one month! Here's some updated pics I took today. Tell me what you guys think. I grabbed a bottle of the almond scented Dr. Bronners. I love it. It's very thin and it takes me a minute to get it all over my head, but I loved the end result and it didn't make my hair too soft. I also want a bottle of the rose scent and lavender at some point. I think I prefer the result of the baking soda wash. I also picked up some tea tree oil like you all suggested and it helped a lot. Also would like to grab some lavender oil to give me some scent options. Any other oils you would recommend or that I should stay away from? Also, when would you recommend that I add accessories such as beads/string/etc? I always appreciate all of your responses! <3
lookin good! id wait a while before adding beads etc, simply because theyll probably fall off. also, some people find that where the bead it, the dread doesnt lock underneath
Oh boy. Shoulda seen this one coming... help please I've run across an issue at work. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=454738
I'm back guys! Restarted my dread journey on March 23, 2013! Super pumped. I had a friend do them for me and they're locking up better than last time. As of March 20 they look like this:
Well, I had to restart my dreads this past March because of work. But now they've been going since then without a problem. Here they are at 8 months. No beeswax or anything like that. These are all natural and I use Dr. Bronners soap with sea salt spray and essential oils. The front seems to be having a hard time dreading up, I'm trying to keep it pulled back and keep my hands out of it as much as I can. Feel free to give any tips, tricks, or other feedback (positive or negative)!
you look awesome. i think you are doing allright. just keep the confidence through the process of undreading and dreading back up again. because what you backcombed is not always the way it will dread up. they will be fie in a while. if you want to try to keep them together more as they are now, then u can try palm-rolling or whatever its called
indeed. I don't even really palm roll that often. I started keeping my hair pulled back as much as possible so I keep my hands out of it throughout the day. I found a youtuber with the same hair type as me and hers are looking very similar to mine. I've been watching her videos and adopting some of her hair styles. It's surprising the crazy stuff I can do with my hair now that I couldn't before.
I suppose it's time for an update seeing as my dreads turned one this week! Yayyy. I'm pretty happy with where I'm at right now, I have quite a bit of baby hair coming up on the left side of my scalp, where alot of them got parted and ripped and some have started falling into place and tangling with each other. Also having a bit of trouble getting the bang area to dread, mainly because I have a hard time keeping my hands out of my hair. lol. But they're slowly tangling together. I also recently added a couple of beads, a bell, and some strings of feathers. Definitely loving the life that my hair is taking, for sure.
