I'm also not a vegie I tried and failed miserbly! I agree there are better things to burn...But sometimes a good ole flag burn' is what it takes to get on the news lol!
I dont have a flag. And i believe that people who do have them burning them can only be a good thing.
if the government saw me burning a flag, i would be labled as a terrorist and prosecuted. and that is a violation of my civil rights as an american, which is why i'm burning the flag in the first place. but hopefully it wont have to come to that. so i'll try my hardest to do my part to change this country. (if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem)
Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Here is the best flag to fly! (well, maybe your Freak Flag too...)
This is coming from a 15 year old who has been following me around the forums refuting everything I say. You must have absolutely nothing better to do. Why don't you go out and spread your fascist views? That's something constructive you can do with your time. I'll burn my money if you want me to. It's kinda fun anyway. Wouldn't be the first time. I can burn the flag because, well, I can. And I can burn a T-shirt, and I can burn a pair of shoes, and I can burn absolutely any piece of fabric I want. I am not proud of my country. If burning the flag is the best way I can express that. Then I'll do it. It's not being ignorant or ungrateful...and most definitely not stupid...it's expressing my dissatisfaction with what my country represents. It represents greed, murder, extortion, terrorism, and money...everything that is wrong with this world.
Actually, in the United States, you can be labeled a terrorist for atttending animal rights conferences and such because they believe that you are some wacked out radical carrying equipment to blow up farms and set fire to fashion shows. So yes, he would most likely be labeled a terrorist for an act like that. I used to recieve some animal rights magazines and they would occasionally have warnings in them about police and the government because they might think to associate the readers of those mags with direct action events that had taken place nearby. The government is a lot more paranoid of the people than the people are of it. Which is definitley something to worry about.
um, thats something different than burning the flag. And are you saying there is no reason for the government to be weary of groups like ELF AND ALF which are linked to bombings around the country in the past 10 years?
Yes and birds go tweet.... What I am saying is that there is a difference between advocating for something and going out and bombing for it and the government believes it is necessary to tag those who only advocate in the same category as those who take direct action. Burning a flag and carrying out a peaceful protest could be considered those 2 different sides. Sometimes, the leaders of the protests will be tagged even if they haven't done anything wrong. All I was trying to point out was that you were doubtful that a person would be tagged as a terrorist for burning a flag. I am not saying that a person would be persecuted for that but he would definitely be under watch for awhile. That was the only point I meant to make.
Sure, if you're part of a group that is known to have connection to 'ecoterrorists,' then you can probably expect to be 'tagged.' They aren't simply tagging everyone who advocates for something...
Lol, seems you and everyone else can only refute my statements by stating my age. Burning your flag not only indicates you aren't proud, but that you have disdain for what it symbolizes. That means the sacrifice of people for the common good (as well as special interests, but this isn't the point). My views aren't fascist, they are patriotic as well as founded by debt. DOes it also represent your laziness and ungratefulness? or? Money isn't bad. A common misconception. it is simply a common trade good, really a good thing for people and an economy. Greed arises regardless. Oh yeah, I did have better stuff to do, but I finished it. And I don't follow you around, we just tend to post in the same forum. Removing your head from your ass tends to help notice things.
Honestly no one here cares how old you are. The thing is that they do care how open/closed minded you are and at 15 there is a good chance you are still under the influence of those you have been taught by and haven't taken it upon yourself to decide these things for yourself. I thought in a similiar way when I was your age. I was a die-hard conservative (although I never had a problem with flag burning but other things similiar to). This was because of influence from school, government, friends, parents and the like. Now all of those do have good ideas, and I think that whether you agree with parents or not you should respect them. But the bottom line is that at 15 you are less likely to be open minded than someone who is older, unless you are VERY mature for your age or you grew up in an open minded household. But the thing is that you must come to a point in life where you decide stuff for yourself, and recognize other people's rights to do the same. Whether or not YOU think it is good to burn a flag doesn't give you the right to tell someone else they can't. It doesn't hurt anyone and you should respect their right, whether you would do it or not.
AAHAHAHAHA, AHAHAHAHAHAHA, BAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAH, O JESUS, I ALMOST JUST URINATED ALL OVER MY LEFT LEG.
Well, when you come into forums and act like you know it all and put down people's opinions...when you're 15 and haven't even BEGUN to enter into the real world...makes me feel a little less than positive toward you. I'm not proud! I have a right to not be proud! And I definitely have disdain! Under this flag we enslave people, we disrespect underdeveloped countries, we steal from the poor, and take advantage of people who cannot stick up for themselves or know otherwise. Sorry, I can't back a bully. Sure they are fascist! You're saying I shouldn't practice my right to protest against things I don't believe in. You think the elite should control the world...and we should let them...sorry. I'm going to use my own head and stop it from happening by exercising both my right to vote and my right to protest. THAT, brother, is not lazy...I'm not sure how you get lazy out of my posts...maybe you're just too lazy to read my posts. Sorry I don't have my head in my ass...that's pretty juvenile. I'm not sure how my views mean I have my head up my ass. I think you're just a wannabe know it all kid. Grow up. And open your mind. You're not always right.
From the mouth (errr...fingers) of a teenager. Lovely. Thank you. You're right on. You give me hope that the next generation will accomplish the things that my generation haven't figured out how to do.
Well, hasn't this thread i started been interesting to watch. Now we're into age issues? For ther record, just because Toketrip is 15, does not mean he has no life experience, intelligence and just as much to add to a conversation that should be respected. I found what he said made a lot of sense and i agreed. He seems to have a more aware concept of things than a lot of older folk. Also Rayne Lyric, you are 17 and i find it funny how you can be patronising when you are only two years older. So, what you said can be said to you as well because at that age there isn't much difference. To Dancer Annie, do you like the idea of a 15 year old following you around? I don't have to be a Psych student to see through your motivation. I suggest relying on fact rather than using your older age as a weapon to beat younger folk with. If that's all you have to win a conversation................You guys are talking about being open minded but are completely closed minded to the fact Toketrip might know something. You're 23, if you think you know so bloody much than just wait. I'm almost 26 and older than the lot of ya, and i can tell you, there is so much more to learn. Just because you're older does not mean you're smarter like some on here pretend and it doesn't mean you are more open minded. You don't know what has gone on in people lives, what experiences they have had or how aware they are just because of age. Give people the benefit of the doubt.
